This group is fantastic I will miss you all....mostly your insight. I replaced my shoulder in January and this bike is a little heavy at 68 with a bad shoulder. I bought the bike from a guy who had a family medical issue that preempted his riding after owning the bike for 2 weeks. I bought it. He called me out of the blue and asked if I would consider selling it back to him because his wife had made an amazing recovery. I sold him the bike and I'm a little sad to say the least.

The lengthy story is to see if I am allowed to show up to the rally with a f800gs? I have not purchased but I'm close.

I have a very good friend that rides a 800 GS and loves it ! Has about 140,000 miles on it. It quite a bit lighter and easier to handle than a Tenere.

I had my '07 F650GS at Tellico Plains last fall, had a great time. No one cared what I was riding. Now that I finally have my S10- well, I am not quite ready to sell the 650. So much lighter, and easier to zip around on. Just not much fun after a couple hours saddle time. Allowed to show up? Hey, I'll be the first to buy you a beer.

I feel your pain. At 66, I was finding the Super Tenere a little too heavy and unwieldy too, so I traded mine in last year on a brand new Yamaha FJ-09. No regrets. Dealing with a chain is a bit of a hassle, but both the Super Ten and the FJ are great bikes!

Cheers,

Bruce

The Tracer GT would be awfully tempting to me if I had to give up the S10 and needed something lighter.

I found a 2017 f800gsa in OKC that had 1700 miles and 21 months of warrantee. Completely set-up for 10,000. If I get stronger over the next year I would bet I have another S10. I went and looked at a 2019 Tenere and they have definitely beefed up the wheels, but the winter frost color didn't do anything to tempt me. I do appreciate that they went back to the copper fork tubes vs 2018 black. Anyway I will be in Ouray trying to keep up with the S10 crowd.
