Hi y'all. I'm creating this thread so I can post all of my ride reports in one place. Most of my trips are overnighters and weekend trips in and around Texas, with some longer trips whenever I can manage them. I got a GoPro at the beginning of this month, so I am starting to shoot some video to document the trips.

I'll kick things off with videos from the two short trips I've done over the past couple weeks:
  • The first was an overnighter from DFW down through HIco, to Hamilton to investigate some family history, and then on to Meridian State Park.
  • The second was meant to be an overnighter up to Eisenhower State Park at Lake Texoma, but ended up being a day trip because the OHV trails were closed, and I decided to keep riding instead of camping out. I yap a lot about Texas/Oklahoma history in this one as I tell the story of Colbert's Ferry and the "Red River Bridge War" between Texas and Oklahoma. Had to make a stop at a Buc-ee's too.
I'm doing the videos mostly for friends and family, but thought I would post them publicly too just for fun. I'm open to any thoughts/suggestions y'all might have. I'm a gopro newbie and I'm working on improving the audio quality with lav mic placement in my helmet and windscreen modifications to reduce the buffeting.

I'm torn between keeping the videos short with less riding footage vs. a bit longer with more footage of the routes. Just from looking at stats on YouTube, it seems like people like longer videos with more route details on rides like the BDRs and TAT (where they are probably "scouting" for their own planned rides), but maybe prefer shorter videos with less ride footage for other types of trips and tours? I'm mostly doing these for myself and friends/family but I would be curious to hear what other folks think makes a good trip video.

Rode down to Oklahoma and did the Dragoo Adventure Rider Training (DART) at the end of last month. Great group of people and great training. Attendees had a range of skill levels, and I think everyone had a good time and learned something. I know I did!
