"Finished" My SuperT - Farkle Content Inside

I've been farkling my SuperT since I got it a couple of months back, well, in-between racking up some miles on it that is. I'm very project oriented though and pretty handy with a great work area so I can get things done pretty quickly for the most part.

Anyhow, this is my 2015 ES with Bumot bags, camo wrap, solar panel charger, LED light bar, infill panel with some frills, supports for the front cowl, and a couple other odds and ends. I did all the work and for fabricated stuff made it (solar panel, stays, and some wiring etc. for panel).

I've a lot of trips lined up for September through December and am anxious to get back on the road with the bike. Thus far I haven't found a lot not to like about the Super T. I've written up a fairly extensive review but that is for another thread.

The wrapping of the bike was a real pain in the ass. I am an SCCA racer and cut my own vinyl for my race cars, but, wrapping is a different skill set entirely. Many, many hours and lots of beers went into what you see there and I have a few pictures, but my advice for anyone interested in duplicating it is to pay the $350-$400 and have someone do it for you.

The solar panel is a conservatively rated 20W job that feeds down through the top case with a nicely routed two conductor wire. The wire comes under the rear seat to the charge controller that is shown in the picture below. I've pulled the controller out for photos but it slides back up into the cavity there to the left and is pretty tidy. That is the smallest solar charge controller I've yet to find and you can get it off Ebay.

You don't have to have a charge controller but I would recommend it. The green light will come on when it is charging but that isn't something you really need to know other than to verify that your setup is properly wired and functioning.

Do I need a solar panel? Probably not with Yamaha's charging system and reliability, but, I don't mind having a built in trickle charger. Since I have a USB charge port wired directly to the battery (fused of course) then I can charge devices in camp with no draw on the battery, assuming the sun is shining of course.

The LED light bar was easily mounted with a little doctoring of the mounting brackets that came with the light. I took the little "L" brackets, bent them a bit, ground them down a little for fitment, and ended up using them in the holes where the original plastic trim piece was mounted. The light mounts very nicely in that area with the brackets and wires being invisible except on close inspection.

There are a few more farkles not shown; Bumot tool box, top case organizer, and securely hidden emergency keys.

I'm planning to make a couple of parts to solve some problems - a U-joint shield to get rid of that stock piece that will cause you to fall over when it goes up your pant leg and some sort of rear tire fender.
