Hi all.
I did my second service on my new to me T12
With 20k kilometers on it today. In changing the final drive oil, I noticed the nice purple 75/90 synthetic gear oil I put in 5k ago had turned very gray. The drain plug magnet was pretty clean, but the color of the oil was a surprise. How are you guys finding the condition of your oil at service?

Yes.... I will typically run several cycles through with miles between each. This is to "wash" out all the crap. Then I change the rear end oil with the engine oil. Admittedly, this is WAY over kill, but the oil is very fresh and might possibly keep the seal in a bit better condition. It's also very easy to switch out.

To be clear, I "washed" mine out when the bike was new and have just changed it with each oil change. Its always been clean and 'new'. On other folks bikes I wash that all out and it might take 2-3 times to "wash" out all the garbage. Then they are starting out with fresh clean oil.

Generally discolored. +1 on changing with every oil change. Cheap since it takes so little.
