I got the Puig front fender extender. Came with double sided tape on it, but instructions say now that it's for "fitment testing" only, and to drill 4 holes and install screws. I'm pretty lazy; anyone run just the tape? Do I really need to drill up my front fender?

i used the 3m tape and the plastic screws been bullet proof, i reckon if you have enoth 3m tape and leave 24hrs may work

mine came with one installed, the holes were drilled, I can't imagine it staying on with tape very long. After I broke that one off, I put another one on and broke it off within 10 miles. I wouldn't run one ever again if you off road at all.

If you run the OEM aluminium sump guard be careful with the fender extender, when the front suspension extends to maximum the fender extender can drop into the sump guard, it'll stop you from being able to steer, hopefully it will rip off rather than break tge mud guard. If you don't ride off road you don't have to worry.

Back to the original question

I removed the mudguard 9simple job), drilled it and used these to hold the mud flap in place

Works for me
