This was my post about it.

It doesn't appear that it would interfere with mounting the Alt-Rider Guards.
I'm possibly going Alt-Rider bars in the spring. There would be no issues that I can see with that setup.

I rode the bike to work and back today, and I did notice a very slight increase in reflected engine noise, not much but it is a big Plate so I expected that.
I'll be going out for most of the daylight hours tomorrow, so I'll get a better feel for it after that.

Thanks, just found your very thorough post about it. Good to hear the altrider bars will work with it. Looking forward to your follow up info regarding sound. This was recommended as a sound deadener on adv rider.

After riding about 180-miles yesterday, the only time I noticed any additional "reflected" engine-noise, or any resonating of the skid-plate itself, was while stopped with the bike idling. And it was barely noticeable.
Once I was moving at road speeds, I couldn't tell any difference at all.
I'm not going to bother with any kind of sound-deadening.

I have used TRex for their sport bike sliders for a while. I realized they did skid plates and crash bars for other styles when I had a Versys 1000. They made a nice set of crash bars. Anyway, great write up. It reminded me to go check them out and the plate looks really solid and well thought out. Thanks for sharing.

The plate by itself would be easy; adding they're crash bars with the plate not so much. Extreme PITA to install both together.

I rode my bike up to T-Rex today. I sort of (loosley) know the owner. He was busy as I saw him briefly and talked to some people who worked there. I mentioned that some have not got their hardware and lack of instructions. If you didn't get the hardware, then call them. I saw the package and all the hardware should be in the package. As far as instructions. They said they are getting away from printed instructions and to look on Youtube for installation instructions. I just went to Youtube and did a search using "T-rex super tenere" and saw the videos turn up on the search. Also, you can call for questions they seem very helpful.

2017 ES owner here. I ordered one of T-Rex Racings skid plate and installed it this weekend. My bike has a set of SW Motech upper crash bars and the T-Rex skid plate uses the same mounting points as the crash bars, in addition to some others.

The installation went smoothly, no need to bend any of their brackets or make any holes larger. The instructions were very helpful. The instructions say to keep all fasteners loose until all fasteners are started then tighten to spec. This helped getting some of the fasteners lined up, particularly the larger bolts up front at the engine mount bracket.

The plate reflects a little bit of engine noise at idle, but I didn’t find it annoying. After an hour long ride, I stopped noticing it.

I bought the skid plate primarily to protect the front of the engine from rocks thrown up by the front wheel. My oil filter has a nice dent or two in it and I have yet to ride down any gravel roads. I won’t worry about that now because the front is well covered by the plate.

Customer service was great.
