Got my extended headlight bulb cap that I ordered from deftoner on the "for sale" Section and just installed them a couple of minutes ago. Took about 15 minutes total and that's including taking the pictures, and taking my time. The longest part was taking off the dash infill panel. I highly recommend this it clears the forks when wheel is fully locked both ways as shown in one of the pictures. I did not want to pay Cyclops that ridiculous amount for those LED bulbs when I got the Nighteyes which are possibly better for only $28. I had a solution using a Rubber seal which was working fine but the heat sink on the bulb was exposed and rubber rots especially when it gets hot. Plus it's just nice to have a nice neat OEM appearance. I highly recommend this upgrade! I swear between the infill panel, this extended bulb cap, Jaxson's products..... the best stuff are made here on this forum! Oops forgot to mention avic's ECU flashing and I'm sure there's a couple I'm leaving out. I just love this place definitely has enhanced my love of the bike!

Okay for those who have already read this.....I edited the spelling and grammar. Was using voice recognition on my phone and in a hurry....

Tell us more about the performance of the Nighteyes. I too was looking at those or other H7 LED conversions.

terrysig,

Nighteyes are awesome! No problems. I've had them on the bike for 10k miles and have been in downpour rain and outside temps. above 100F. No problem still working great. The light output is great no getting flashed from on coming traffic. I can see better than stock incandescent at night (despite me having old-man-eyes bad night vision.) During the day for safety and visibility they are much brighter than stock. No ignitor or any outside part or resister to deal with. Nighteyes now has newer upgrade versions for around the same price. They also have more and possibly better options but they are called "Novsight." Gonna try the Novsigts on my car. If my Nighteyes blew out tomorrow....I'd still feel that I've more than enough gotten my money's worth. They also have a warranty. And now I can have these with the extended size bulb covers....just adds icing on the cake!

Good review. There are many options so wasn't sure which direction to go. Also the need to rig some sort of extended cover had me stalled. And to confirm the extended cover gives the needed room to house the bulbs cooling fins?

terrysig,

I'd be wrong to tell you it will cover every LED bulb out there. But it covers my Nighteyes easy. If it won't cover a bulb....then the bulb and cooling fins, etc. are too big. Anything bigger will go in to your forks. Notice one of my pictures how the extended cover clears the forks by a hair. Which is right where I want it!

Thanks for the review, I'm super glad that they work perfect for you :). I already pay for the cyclops, that tons of money but at that time I did not have the 3d Printer. Now I hope that for the new users of the S10 have this cheap option and the option for choose they led light of their like. Hope you have better weather soon and go out to enjoy the S10.

Thank You! Might get some riding in tomorrow! As I put in my review..those caps are perfect! What I like is that now I can feel comfortable spending a tad more on bulbs if I want and not worry about them. The solution I had was adequate but ....it wouldn't be a great loss since I spent $28.00 a pair on the bulbs. The bulbs are great, but if they go out; I can spend more monies and not worry because I now have your covers!

::026:: On the good review..... I've been struggling to do something about these lights for two years. Just felt the cost was on the high side.

Thanks for taking your time to do this..... appreciated.

This last picture shows pretty much what I had before as I'm disassembling it by the way I highly recommend the nighteyes especially for only $28 a pair
Do you have a part number for the bulbs? Having a little trouble finding the correct bulb on their site, thanks.

I had some nighteyes. One of them didn't work out of the box and the other one didn't last long. At least they were cheap.

I like the covers. 3D printing does seem a very versatile way of making complex objects easily. Just one concern I do have with these light covers. How do the cooling fins do their job in that housing? Surely they need to be in the open air, or have I missed something?

Nighteyes now makes newer updated ones under the brand name "Novsight" The newer Novsight ones have better specs. I'm going to order the Novsights probably for my car. I keep going through the incandescent bulbs on my car every 3 months or so.
But the Nighteyes and Novsights have gotten good reviews.

Do you have a link for deftoner. My searches have been fruitless. Thanks.
Ps
contact info. And what to order.
Hello Fennellg, I don't know if already contacted me. My email is deftoner@protonmail.com if you have question abou the caps. I'm really really happy that this project worked for so many people. I invested a lot of time designing them. :)

BTW for thos nigheyex lamps, I installed them on a friend's car (a focus) worked perfect. I mean not sure if they are mor bright that the ones that cyclops sells, but they dont have the regulator on the cable (a square plastic thing outside the lamp, like the ballast on xenon) so they are way better to accommodate. and not fan too. I'm always scared about the fan dying and my light bursting on fire.. :D

You could always use the fanless type, with copper strap heat dissipaters............... and less bulky.
yeah I know that model, original by philips, now copied by tons of chinesse brands. Its good but its not more than 2k lums. On the good side you save a lot of work and the need to change the caps. but you are getting half the power that you can get with led.

Thank for sending mine out Victor. Pretty simple transaction.
I didn't see it noted anywhere.....do we use those large rubbers O-rings from the stock caps on yours?
Thanks,
Steve
