YES - our sizes are not DOT approved in the US. You can get them in Canada tho... $$$

Any Canadians tried them?

I just fitted a Heidenau K60 to the rear of the Super Tenere after it shagged the Shinko...
What happened to the Shinko? I have someone trying to convince me they are something I should consider.

Ah sorry mate, you were away for that eh?

I've had a few sets of Shinkos on the Vee, and they were great, especially considering the price. Thought they'd be worth trying on the S10 and had Larry fit a set before delivery.

First time on the dirt was about 100 miles in Micheaux State Forest. I'd been there not too long ago on the Vee with Shinkos so had a good basis for comparison. On that trip the tires were good but a got punctured by a small rock. I put it down to bad luck but was beginning to wonder if the Shinko's weren't "tough" enough. I mean, it's one thing getting a puncture from a nail or a screw, but from a rock?

When I went on the same roads on the Super Tenere it wasn't long before I was hammering it - TCS2 is fun and safe. Where the Strom would sit there spinning, the S10 would put a big hand in the middle of your back and accelerate in a way I wouldn't have thought possible on a loose surface.

After a few hours of this type of shenanigans I stopped for a pee and notice the rear tire going a bit flat. Took me a while to find the leak - there was no sign of a foreign body, just a cut or a tear that was leaking quite badly. Not only that, there were lots of cuts, cracks and tears.

My theory is that getting traction on the rear actually stresses the tire more than spinning it - hence the difference in the way the tire looks between the Vee and the S10.

I think the Shinko would be OK on the S10 if treated gently...

Yep, I'm a bit behind...but for a good reason.

Wow, that's really torn up. I'm sure that was annoying. I do appreciate you blazing the trail for me on those tires. Guess I'll cross those off the list. Still waiting and very much looking forward to get into the dirt. Not expecting much from the Battlewings.
