Does anyone know the differences between the ST Euro and US versions, aside from the speedometer? Can the US shop manual be use for the Euro version? I was going to order the manual from Yamaha USA but it said it is only for the US model. Thanks

From what I can see so far, the biggest difference is the immobilizer and the switch gear on the left handle bar (EU version) which allows flash to pass and emergency flashers. I think the U.S. spec models have turn signals that also function as running lights..wheras the EU version doesn't. Other than that, I don't see how they could be much different.

IMOP.. the US seat if firmer than the Euro spec bike I rode.. In many post on other forums over the last year I have bragged on how AWESOME the seat was on that Euro bike (for me)... My new US bike has the same shape, but firmer.... Ive been building custom seats for ten years. I think im going to tweak mine this winter.. Have something (material/style) comfortable and cool in mind..

I was wondering why there are so many complaints about the seat from U.S. owners, but nary a peep from from the EURO/SA spec owners. Your impressions of both sounds like a reasonable explanation.
