I’ve seen two uTube vids that seem to implie that the current model will not be developed further. I can understand this, from a commercial view the S10 never quite got the sales we would think it deserves. If it is the end of this one will there be a totally new and improved Tenere?
Thoughts folks

Me too, since the videos "seem to imply" something; seeming to imply something is often the same thing as saying "I have no accurate information because I'm not in any position to actually know, but I'm going to pull a lot of speculation out of my ass".

I’ve been saying for years and will say it again if Yamaha would have put a better paint job on the Tenere right from the start it would have sold waaaaay better. The paint scheme they used makes it look to much like a cobble job of leftover parts.

Anybody that is going to buy an "adventure" bike because of looks, is going to buy a Beemer....or KTM....or Triumph....or.... I'm not sure why Yamaha stopped painting everything, and I don't like it, but, there's probably a reason that makes sense to them. Keeping the price down? Less maintenance? More rugged looking? My Cobalt Blue T12 is gorgeous, but that's not why I bought it over the other brands.

Gee, you saw it on the internet so it must be true.

Turn off your PC and go to bed. The internet is a lie. You've been lied to.

Everything I say is a lie.

I'm lying.

No one cares what some idiot says in a Youtube video. Worse, what they "imply".

Wait and discover the truth with everyone else, when it actually happens.

I would make one other point here, too; I don't know if anyone has accurate sales figures on specific models sold by Yamaha. I've definitely never seen any figures on the S10. But the bike's been in constant production for a decade now, which means that Yamaha has obviously seen enough value in it to continue making them. I doubt that a multinational corporation would be pissing money away out of sentimentality, so the bike must sell well enough to keep them happy.

Anybody that says my Beast ain’t purty....
My original plan was to get a 60th Anniversary painted ES. (hail, King Kenny!) Couldn't believe it when I found out that the US is the only place that the ES is not offered in that paint scheme. I was told: blue or black. I was extremely surprised to find out that the "blue" they mentioned was Cobalt. And, with our excess of sunny days shining on the pearl, it became my favorite color. But, I also realize beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

This has started early.............

I doubt that Yamaha will get rid of the S10. No way I see them getting out of the large displacement adventure bike segment when every other major manufacturer is in it. Heck, even Harley is jumping in. They have had numerous opportunities to discontinue it over the years, and probably the biggest was to not update to the Gen 2. I would be surprised if they did not update it in 2021/2, giving them a modern full lineup of bikes, especially with the T7 out now.

Just like when I started the thread "V-Strom 1000 is dead. No longer being made." That ended up being 100% true.

Sadly this is the end of the current generation Super Tenere. Unfortunately, the members on this forum do not have the inside info like me. The same goes with the Super Tenere. It's a nice bike. My executive buddies at Yamaha USA have crunched the numbers. They are only going to roll out old stock until they sells. Then it will be no longer be sold in the USA. There are so many setting in containers the even my buddy Mike Chrzanowski cannot guess how long it will be until they all sell here in the US.

The good news is there is a possibility of a new model but that is still up in the air according to Terry Okawa. The new corporate office that was opened in 2018 (Marrieta, Ga.) is still struggling even with Jeff Young at the helm.

S10 is dead, at least in it's current form. I think...

Every bike has to meet Euro 5 standards to be sold in the EU as a 2021 model. That's going to force manufacturers to drop a bunch of old models.

FJR is already confirmed dead for 2021, S10 can't be far behind.

There’s no use in importing anymore once you start to see the ADV Harley at Dairy Queens and Starbucks in the US.
