I needed to follow the wire harness from under the passenger seat back to the tail lights and blinkers. I took off the passenger seat and then I had to remove the bolts holding my rear racks and passenger grab rails to remove the plate the rear seat attaches to. It looks like this:

What is the connector that appears to terminate into a carrier that is labeled only with "UP?" The connector the plug goes into is heavily dampened from vibration.

Here's what it looks like up close:

Please note, this is not the connector under the front seat. My understanding is that's an ABS testing connector. This one is under the rear seat.

Any idea what it is? I would LOVE it if it was a connector for additional tail/turn signals!

Thanks!

and in case you didn’t know... the key will need to be cycled off in the event of a tip over with the engine running.
