That is an amazing bike for sure. This electric vehicle technology is moving at a mind blowing pace!! I'm pretty sure it will take a few geometry tweaks to get it where it will corner decent.

I think it also would need a tweek or two to be a viable tourer . We are a very long way away from a 200 mile (320km) range and a 10 minute recharge time.

Fascinating way to reduce drag ROUGHLY 70% to go after the land speed record!!!
I wonder how long till we see this on the race circuit?

I was fascinated by land speed records as a kid. This will be very interesting. Taanks Checks.

There are some absorbing conversations to be had at MIRA. The CERN of motoring.

Hydrogen is pretty close I would think, without looking up the latest developments. Although that tech will be used for larger vehicles such as trucks, planes, with better protection, unless they can work around the impact dangers.

Interesting times we live in.

This is getting a lot of attention on the dirt bike boards I'm on. Looks pretty interesting, I'm dubious about the range claims. Would be great for a track bike, especially if it had easily swappable battery packs. I am surprised at how many people don't like the fact that it's quiet. I really dislike loud bikes, but that's just one person's opinion.

That would be surreal, watching a motocross race with only these bikes on the track. You can see them, but not hear them. And yes, there is something to be said for quietness. I watched a video of Ken Block's Hoonigan racing a Tesla. They showed video from inside the Hoonigan; what you'd expect 1,400hp so sound like. Then a video from inside the Tesla; totally quite except for the noise from the Hoonigan creeping in.

I'm sure the range on the E-bike, just like a gas powered bike, is all going to depend on how you ride it. If you "tune it down", I'm sure the range goes up. But $13k to play . . . . wow.

The price of a current 450 class SX bike is about $10k, so it's not too terribly out of line.

Wow, I haven't even looked at dirt bike prices.
Me neither until now. No way I would buy a new one, I know what I do to them! I'm also not a good enough rider to care about the improvements made in the last couple of years. My newest dirt bike now is 13 years old and it definitely outperforms me.

EVs since 2019 had needed to have a pedestrian warning sound and while most are pretty lame, you can download the Jetson's car sound like this:
from here:

Which means all of those dirt bikes can sound like anything you want! Imagine quietly sneaking up on the pack leader and then turning on the sound of a freight train or uncorked V8.
:p

I love the idea of quiet. It's about the thrill of the ride, not about how many people you can piss off with your noise. Like it or not, we've lost the overwhelming majority of places to ride offroad on the east coast of the US. A huge contributor to that is people being irritated by the sound. At the rate riding areas disappear, quiet is a good thing.

Of course the obvious downsides are the regulations that follow quiet bikes. Now that you can be quiet, we don't want to ever hear your noise again. That's a massive risk. Three quiet bikes out of ten is not likely to satisfy those pushing to shut down riding areas.

It’s mostly the illegal exhaust systems causing the noise complaints. I’m thankful that Harley Davidson finally got fined millions for promoting selling illegal exhaust systems . The loud pipes really don’t bother me all that much but they definitely do bother lots of other folks and lead to a bad image of motorcycles.

They're like chili. Some people think that if their chili is flaming hot, then it's good. They don't worry about flavor. Some people do the same with their pipes, and just go for pure volume, and don't worry about the tone. My R6 kid's exhaust is stupid loud . . . . /annoying.

So... the electrical energy consumed by electric vehicles, if it produces pollution due to the combustion of fossil fuels to generate that energy... And with Euro7, hybrid vehicles would no longer pass it (the pollution of the atmospheric engine would be measured separately... no together with the electeic engine as it is now)…we are going to end up walking a lot..:)
