Success! Thanks for the help. Actually the instructions and pictures made it pretty easy. I had more trouble getting the top painted fairing off!! :-[

The nuts for the front screws can be tricky to get aligned when you go to put that panel back. A toothpick can help.

Thanks for the heads up! ECU is currently on its way back from avc8130. I can't wait to get it put back in and see the difference. ::014::

You sir are correct! Got it back today and put back in. WOW! What a difference! Thanks god for this forum and the great people. I would never have done this without guidance from everyone. AC is great to work with and turned it around quickly.

Global emission legislation quotas. Financial penalties for exceeding CO2 and other gases would make producing bikes and cars cost prohibitive. Only reason why manufacturers like Porsche and Ferrari have hybrid cars, to lower their total CO2 footprint.

Ok. Probably a dumb question, but now that I have the ECU flashed would I have to get it re-flashed if I change to an aftermarket exhaust like a Yoshimura? Based on what I have read on the forum, I don't think I would have to, but I am not 100%. It sounds like it would be beneficial, but not required. Let me know

Not necessary, unless you want to go with a full Arrow can and headers, have a rolling road test while mapping the ecu to gain every last hp out of it, then no.

Not really. Like Dogdaze wrote, you might gain an extra 1-2%, but nothing practical.

Not to mention a few pounds off the bike with the stock can removed.
On the other hand, high pro cans get annoyingly mind numbing when on long winded road trips at interstate speeds.

No need to pull all the electrical off, only the one on the far right that is blocking access to the Christmas tree fastener. Once the fasteners and the back allen bolt are taken out then the whole tray will lay back (wiring and all) allowing access to the ECU.
This was excellent advice got the ECU out in 20 minutes. thanks!

Thanks for the write up on this. Fortunately I'm more than pleased with my stock ECU.

Just to add:
The allen bolt is accessed from the wheel well with a 5mm hex, hard to reach but easy to remove.
The tray will be slightly blocked by the bars but there is enough room to get the ECU out.

The flash: I thought about it for 16 months...
AVEC did the job in a day with shipping taking 3 days each way. Thanks Anthony!

I am impressed with the changes.
1) Idle is now comfortable at about 900.
2) My 2014 never "rocked" me with acceleration in any gear. Now it does.
it pops in T and S, with none of the jerkiness tht S used to provide.
I put on about 200 miles this weekend and found my sedate self acting like a hooligan.
Now it feels like a 95 HP motorcycle. Still 600 lbs. but its alive!!!!
3) I'll be checking for mileage but it dosen't seen to have changed.

Sorry I waited so long to do it but its like getting a new bike.
I'm really looking forward to the next ride.
