ECU Flash

I have a 2012 with 70K miles and I want to extract all the power I can. The bike is stock and I've ordered an Arrow header and exhaust and I'm looking for the best ECU flash. Has anyone had this kind of fun yet? I'm guessing my bike makes around 80 to 90 hp but not sure. Does any one know how much hp can be achieved without serious engine modification? TIA.

There is a member on here who specifically does ECU flashes for the Super Tenere. I haven't had my 2017 flashed, but I've read lots of good reviews on his flash. I think he can customize it for you, too. I'm sure someone will post up shortly with the details of how to contact him.
<EDIT> His name is Anthony, known as AVC8130 here on the forum. Started working on flashes in December 2013.

I could be wrong, again, but it was my understanding that the flash didn't increase HP, but smoothed out the throttle, and reduced the engine braking. I think it also removed the low rpm power restriction in the Gen 1s. But, BadNews is right about somebody piping up soon.

Anthony started out just adjusting the throttle mapping, but he was looking into adjusting fueling some number of years back. Without disabling the O2 sensors, you can't really change the closed loop fueling. However, wide open throttle is not in one of the closed loop areas. :)

I think the O2 sensors can be switched off in the ecu. But it really needs a rolling road for best effect

Anthony, @avc8130 , ECU flash via courier, i.o.w. I mail you my ECU, you flash it to "my choice?" and the ECU is sent back, right?

Without a dyno tune, how much HP am I not potentially gaining?
Or have a "rough" bike that requires software fine tuning?
Or worse still, an unrideable bike.

I have no access to a XT1200 experienced dyno tuner for 1,500km.

I am in Cape Town, South Africa. Options are very limited.

I thought Anthony only flashes US bikes.
I remember a while ago someone had asked if he could do a Canadian bike (with immobilizer) and I though he was not setup to do so.
I know there is someone in BC who went down into the US and had theirs done at 2Wheel dyno works, so I am sure they can do bikes with the red key.

I assume yours has the red key, so I would suggest looking for a reputable flash service in Europe or the UK or contact 2wheel dynoworks and speak with them.

$1,200 for 18hp. . . . hmmmm. . . . not worth it to me, but the article made a good point. For one of those more powerful bikes, it would cost more than $1,200. And, the improvements were pretty easy to do. I think I learned my lesson with my FJ. Absolutely loved the power band, until I changed the exhaust, and did a re-jet. It made much more HP, but it made it in a different way. . . . and that was the problem. I like/love the manners of the bike as is. I'm afraid I wouldn't if I changed something. But, that's just me.

Although my opinion doesnt necessarily relate reflashes. I will say this is you modified a bike expecting big things. In reality you bought into the marketing hipe. But what in reality you should have looked at what others have done thinking the same thing. If your mad same here as i have done the same thing. If your not then your right the mod made a big difference.

The nice thing about a flash is it’s easily reversed.

Oh shoot.
Yes, our bikes have the red key and immobilizer setup. Thank you for the heads-up.

I could definitely be wrong so contact him and be sure. I have never heard of anyone having a bad experience with his work. Great work and a super fast turnaround is all I ever hear. If I was in the USA I would be using him for sure.

Indeed, neither have I heard any comeback or negative feedback.
The reason why I'm following his work.

I contacted Anthony earlier this year about my 2014. He does not want to do Canadian Gen 2 bikes.
