True. My personal opinion . . . . stick with OE. Not broken . . . . don't fix.

EDIT: Rode the ST1300 for years. Great braking, although linked, and went through pads every 5k miles. Somebody at fleet maintenance decide to switch in EBC. Do not know what composition, and I'm not saying anything negative about EBC. BUT, whatever the composition, it was not compatible with the OE rotors. When they got hot, they were useless and dangerous. When they cooled back down, they were fine. Went back to OE pads, and the world was right again. Different story: changed the pads on my Ram 1500. Put in semi metallic, 'cuz they're better, right. They chewed, almost literally, the rotors in less than 3K miles. Learned that Ram uses ceramic pads for their rotors; lasts a long time. So, two totally different situations where I departed from OE, and wished I didn't.

Yep, IMO and experience, HH chew the rear disc. EBC organic compound works fine in the rear, also in my experience. Experience meaning that I’ve actually used them.

EBC HH work fine in the front, I’m most of the way through my second set and there’s no noticeable wear whatsoever on the discs. Braking is also improved, with consistent feel, no overheating, and additional bite when asked for at the lever.

False. I have had EBC HH pads in front and rear with no signs of excessive disc wear, no over-heating, no issues whatsoever. This is my personal experience. I fitted EBC HH pads all round to the Versys 1000 that I had for 5 years and the Honda ST1300 before that without any problems at all.

Biggest issue I had with the EBC HH on the rear was that they wore out faster than the OEM pads. They only lasted about 60-70% as long.
