EasternBeaver aux light solution and adding a switch for lights?

Looking at the 3 or 4 circuit solution from Eastern Beaver to add some lights to my 2015 1200 ES. It looks simple enough to plug into the provided Aux port on the bike, but I am curious how one would go about the switch on/off of these lights. Do I need to purchase a separate switch? As it sits I think Eastern provides one "always on" port with the other two being switched.

Left as is, is the assumption these would simply come on with the turning of the key? If I wanted to add a separate switch, what solutions are out there and where would be added?

Thanks in advance, gents!

I had an EB relay installed on my S10 and then ran out of circuits, so installed a PDM60. EB makes good stuff and I've still got their relay kits installed on other motorbikes. Regardless of the system, you will want a separate switch for your lights, unless you want them coming on when you turn on the ignition.

I don't know what lights you are looking at, but most light manufacturers offer a switch. I'd start there. There nothing exotic about the switches, but integration may be easier than DIY or piecing together parts from different manufacturers.

Good luck,

I used the EB adapter and mated the switched circuit to my Denali motorsports harness, which contained an integrated on/off switch.

I saw a reference that the switched and unswitched feeds to the aux light connector on the S10 are 20A each? If so, the EB multi circuit kit is pretty overkill and just grabbing their three wire aux cable would be sufficient for everything but the biggest lights available.

Actually switching the lights would need to be done with either a high current switch or a relay kit that prevents the switch from having to handle the full load of the lights.

Something like that could be mounted in the wiring compartment to control your lights (provided they don't draw more than 5A, if they do you could use one board for each light).
