Hey guys - we're excited to announce our partnership with Dustriders Motorcycle Accessories as the North American distributor for their innovative motorcycle hoist. Many of the products we sell - crashbars, skidplates, etc - help protect your bike when it goes down....this will be a great addition to help your bike get back up on two wheels again!

Odds are good if your bike falls on a perfectly flat surface of grippy tarmac, you can probably lift it using the "reverse walk" method and (hopefully) not injure yourself. Add in an off-camber dirt road with loose gravel, fully loaded panniers, a full tank of gas, and a bit of rider fatigue after a full day's ride, and it can be a much different story. The Dustrider Motorcycle Hoist is the perfect solution for solo adventure touring and adds peace of mind that you will be able to pick your bike up by yourself safely and easily if it goes down. The hoist disassembles to a convenient size and the included carry pouch allows it to be strapped down to a luggage rack, passenger seat, or top case for ease of access.

In addition to lifting a fallen motorcycle, the hoist can also lift either end of an upright bike to facilitate removing the front or rear wheel. It can also help with tire changes by acting as a heavy duty bead breaker. It will even lift your four-wheeler or quadbike!

The disassembled hoist measures 19.3" x 8.3" x 2" and weighs approximately 9.5 pounds.

Here is a video showing the hoist in action lifting an R1200GS:

And some pictures of the hoist in action:

And a few more showing additional uses for the hoist, the included carrying bag, and an overall shot:

Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Good deal! We are already working on our second order with Dustriders and will have this as a stock item in NY, so should be no problem getting you squared away after the first of the year.

Thanks!

Clever!!!
Yeah, we think so too! There's definitely something to be said about being strong enough (and knowing how) to lift your bike yourself if you drop it, and if it goes down in a parking lot, odds are good you won't need to pull out the hoist. If your back muscles like to sing "Ave Maria" when lifting heavy objects, or you like the idea of being completely self-contained for solo rides, it definitely provides piece of mind for not a huge amount of coin.

That is a really cool product! Visions of being alone with a broken leg and pinned under a 500 lb bike have always scared me. ::021::

Thanks Chris! Yeah, the Super Tenere is capable enough to get you waaaaaaay out in the middle of nowhere and, with loose trail conditions, getting enough traction to pick it back up if it decides to take a nap might not be the easiest thing. With luck it will be insurance and you'll never need to take it out of the bag....but that time you do, it'll be worth every penny and then some! :D

Just as a reminder....we've got a few hours left if there's anyone interested in taking advantage of the introductory special. Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

My justification for buying something starts with "its a cold dark rainy night and you are a hundred miles from nowhere". Guess I could rephrase that. :D

That's actually a great way to think about it! With any luck, the hoist will never come out of it's bag or need to be used....but that one time you're not so lucky, it will be worth every penny and then some!

And as you can see by the photo below....we received the shipment from South Africa! All pre-orders have been filled (that pile in the picture is a lot lower now), and we do have some left in stock and ready to ship. We'll be placing another order after the holidays, but if you've been wondering what to buy your Super Tenere for the holidays, we can get it to you in plenty of time! :)

Seeing this gadget and having struggled mightily with dropped bikes in awkward conditions has motivated me to try to copy the idea. I haven't produced anything yet, and if the Dustrider hoist goes on sale again, I might buy the original and forget about making my own. Hint-hint.

Hi Boondocker - nothing planned for the foreseeable future. The hoist is incredibly well-made and worth every penny - not just my opinion, but apparently shared by a lot of riders since our first shipment is almost sold through. I know there have been some "DIY" tools made by riders in the past with varying degrees of success and/or fit and finish. The nice thing about the Dustriders hoist is that it's built, tested, and ready to go - no math, no welding, no machining of steel inserts for the knockdown legs, no sewing of carry cases, etc. Hell, I wasted more than $250 on useless farkles for my own bike last year...none of which would have helped if the bike went ass-over-teakettle in the dirt. :D

Any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Do you think they will ever come out with version 2, which collapses down into a smaller bag? Definitely well made and worth having, but locating it on the bike is a bit of a pain....

Hey Nick - good question! I don't think there are any plans right now, but will follow back up with Dustriders and see what their thoughts are. I know there's some concern about getting to the hoist if you stow it in a pannier - definitely more convenient for storage, but if the bike goes down on the pannier with the hoist, you might be out of luck. Ideally, if they could shrink it down small enough to strap to the top of a pannier lid, that might be the best solution....most likely still accessible, but a bit easier to carry.

If there's any news to report, I'll post it up here! In the meantime, I do have 4-5 hoists left in stock now, and will be ordering more in the next month or so.

Thanks!

Hi guys - these are back in stock in New York. We've had a tough time keeping up with demand after the article in Iron Butt magazine, and have another review coming up in Rider magazine. This is one of those tools you hope never has to come out of the bag...but if it does, you sure will be glad you have it! :)

Thanks...

Rider Magazine reviewed the Dustriders hoist in their November 2015 issue (on newsstands now!) and came away suitably impressed! :D We do still have hoists in stock in NY and can ship your order same day if placed before 2PM ET. Feel free to call (585) 310-ADVM with any questions or click the article below to be taken to the product page on our site.

Thanks!

More feedback/reviews from some of our customers....

I finally used the darned thing. :)

Got a flat coming off the freeway (after riding all morning) sheesh.
No one to help me get the bike on the centerstand. They suck on the Tiger.

SOOOOO, I used the hoist from the side rack. It was SO EASY and fast.
It held the bike up for a week while I got the wheel off, bought a tube, went to the shop to break the bead and replace the tube, bring it back home and put the wheel back on. I LOVE THIS THING.
I have one of the first you guys sold. I have used it twice. If you need it, you need it BADLY. Its worth its weight in gold.
Saw the review in Rider magazine, called South Africa immediately. I got my Hoist today, took 4 days from ADVMotorrad, when I got it I went outside and tipped over my Electra Glide Limited, fully loaded about 1000 pounds. I have dropped this bike twice this year and although I know how to lift a big bike, I couldn't even budge it. Heaven forbid you should drop a bike on a reverse slope. Once I got some help from a passer-by and the second time I lifted it with a bottle jack and a 2x4 through the rear wheel. Today, when I got my Hoist, I hooked to the passenger footrest, gave it about 10 good heavy pumps and lifted this HUGE BIKE with absolutely NO Stress or Strain, UNBELIEVABLE!! I even had my wife come out and try it. I believe this hoist will add 10 years to my riding future and hopefully keep me away from a Trike. This hoist is not just for 700 lb bikes, if you're on the road by yourself and you are looking at this tool - GET IT!! Oh Yeah, Get it.
