Checkswrecks, i had a set of Avon Roadrider on mine. I destroyed the rear in 2000 mls. Had a 2 inch flat spot in the middle. Have heard of this a few times. Still have the front on with about 6000 mls still good.
I'm aware of others writing that for the Roadriders.
As for the Trail Riders, I've seen both good and mediocre mileage reported. I was stuck with a flat when they were what was available so on the bike they went.

Previous tire that let loose at speed. This is what happens when you have a slow leak while riding!

Got ot spend some time on road with the new rubber. Damp roads on new tires so took it easy. So far so good turn in is good, at speed is good. No slipping on the damp roads. Even when I tried to get them to spin.

Got to spend the day on the new rubber. Lots of dirt in various conditions, wet , loose gravel, pure dirt, bed rock and even some mud in places. I'm sold... me a two buddies road cohutta here in north ga and Tennessee. 96 thousand acres of every kind of off raoding you can think of. Ok not sand
They impressed me all day long. Grip in the turns, grip in a straight line. Front drove in any direction I wanted. All in all at this point (which is not far in) this maybe the best I've run. One of the buddies runs an Africa with tkc's. He is usually the one I'm chasing, after awhile of pushing him he ask if I minded him trying them out. So we swapped bikes for about an hr. First thing he said was they acked like a full knobbly. Mud was a challenge but they did clean out well and keep me moving. I was expecting more of the 705 feel. What I got was more like e07 or tkc. On the way home I pushed them pretty hard in the turns. Feel and feed back was very good, better than any other 50 / 50 I have ran. Again I'm sold. We will see how the mileage does.20191221_105855.jpg20191221_105855.jpg20191221_105907.jpg

Just picked up a set from Revzilla for $332 and change out the door. Will get them mounted later this week and report back as soon as Upstate NY riding weather clears up a bit! Lots of great responses on this tire from this Forum and the first reviews on the net sold me. Almost pulled the trigger on some 705s but decided to try these first.

I've just over 1K miles on this set and very impressed with overall handling. This soft stuff is stretching their design parameters but I managed to not get stuck. If paired with a real knobby up front, I could shift up and add throttle to float the front tire much better. As is, the Mission front wants to plow and wander so I had to tractor up this grade doing the duckwalk at 5mph!

What a bummer they don't do well in sand:(. Unfortunately that limits my tire choice. Where I live there is nowhere to ride off road that does not have deep sand.

So with the cold and kinda shitty weather lately, I choose to leave the Harleys parked for riding. Been doing the commuting on the ten. After 1200ish miles the scorpions I usually run are smoked. And theyre getting sketchy on the street. Couple of sketchy moments with panic braking stops and rear wheel slides downshifting on the sides.

Really like what Ive seen with Kyle's testing on these. And for this part of the seaon I really wanna run something more street worthy for my high speed freeway run commutes till weather is better, then knobbies. So picked up a set of these to try out. No biggie, if I dont like em in a couple thousand Ill swap Scorpions back on when its not used for road nearly as much.

My bike came with Anakees fitted and as I only ride tarmac so far, I was a bit suspicious about how they would perform. But I’ve been riding all through the winter in the wet and cold and I’m very impressed with them. I use Pilot Road 5 on my road bike so I was expecting to see a big difference but although obviously I haven’t been cornering hard on them, they have given me a very stable and secure ride so far. When I do get around to doing some more off-roading stuff I expect I’ll find them lacking but on muddy wet slippery roads they seem fine

About 1k on my set.

Went out for a dirt / twisty mtn roads loop for lunch on the mtn for some of my own persoanl testing while its been raining. Ive already rain tested em on the freeway a couple times and theyve been great. Now was my chance to see how they do on twisties in the rain.

They did really well and had no issues riding a 65% pace through the mtn roads even with a hard down pour. Much faster then any cars on the road.

The dirt loop has some sloppy clay and they did get flighty on some muddy clay sections. But, they cleared well and kept driving through even uphill. To be honest even the knobbie Scorpions Ive run would have gotten flighty through the same slop.

So far Im digging em. Yes the knobbies of the Scorpions would outperform on sketchy singletrack stuff. BUT thats not what I use my S10 for (unless thats where the trail ends up). Id take a dirtbike out for that stuff. The other 98% high speed freeway, mtn twisties, fire roads and double track these have been great. Wear is better also at almost 1k theres little wear. I was getting a little over 1 k out of the rear Scorpions.

5K miles... still happy with the performance but there has been increased noise and a speed induced harmonic “thrum” that vibrates through the bike while leaned over.
Thats not great news for me as it means these tires lifespan is now 5000mls. Please keep us updated if you can if this noise/ rumble continues.

Are the tread blocks feathered where you're getting the vibrations?
Difficult to assess where exactly the vibes come from but looking at the tire, I see wear along the sides of the rear on the backside of the odd shaped, “stepped” block.

It’s the large block of the 3 types of blocks on the edge tread. Still, excellent wear and traction so I’ll ride these out for another 1K miles and replace with some 805’s for my August trip to the NEBDR.
