If you watch a more complete version, which is on YouTube, the motorcycle guy wasn’t disturbing anyone. The Walmart management guy is obviously lying. Yeah, I think it’s kinda dumb to wear your helmet in a store. I have carried my Helmet in a store many times. Maybe the guy didn’t feel safe leaving his helmet on the bike. He said he couldn’t find a basket.
Th biggest problem I see is the officer and his attitude. He escalated a non issue, wasn’t professional in any way. The other officers do nothing to diffuse the asshole cop. That’s the problem and the public is tired of cops with this attitude.
People can be dumb sometimes, we all do dumb things sometimes. How would you feel if your doctor told you to “pull your head out of your ass” ? We need to get rid of police who act like that.
i watched the complete video, manager approached him once. police officer didn't need to be a jerk. lesson?? i'm not wearing my helmet into any store!

Stupidity everywhere. Stupid biker, stupid cops, stupid store manager. All the stupid manager had to do was tap him on the shoulder to get his attention and there would have been no stupid cop.

The YT version notes that this was last year before COVID. I hate to admit it but I had my full face helmet on during a trip to Home Depot recently because I forgot a mask. Nobody said a word.

IF IF IF anybody at all said a word I would have simply said why the helmet was on and offered to leave immediately.

Plenty of stupidity to go around. But, if the manager had touched him, however gently, the guy with the helmet may have claimed assault. I've seen it happen. . . . unfortunately. As a side bit of info, he wouldn't have been arrested in Texas. Our law requires LE warning before arrests for Criminal Trespass. That way we know that the request/warning was issued. The ones in the video are taking the manager at his word that he told the guy to leave. I've also seen witnesses change their tune under oath.

Touching no matter the person is a big liability if you dont know them. Not just that they could claim self defense in some cases if returned the favor in a different way. I had person come behind me and pull there arm around my throat and I turn around and had a few words with. They never talked to me after that. I did know the person a little bit, but who does that to a veteran?

I don't think a helmet is ever a bad idea in the Home Depot lumber section.

I've only done it at gas stations and fast food joints.

Why would anyone deliberately wear their helmet inside of a store. It is impossible to be aware of your surroundings when off the bike and walking around in public.

That was a nice clean arrest. When store management asks you to leave and you don't that is trespassing on private property. Walmart is the world of dregs and scum of our society. It is a very small percentage of hard working middle class that shop there.
I would tell you just what I think of your asinine opinion, but we aren't supposed to talk like that on here, but I will inform my wife tomorrow before she heads out to Wal-Mart to get groceries that's she's the scum of society.

He could claim he was Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire, and that he owned a mansion and a yacht while he was at it. With every square inch of that store under video surveillance, lotsa luck trying to make such an assault charge stick.

Looks like Florida's statutes around tresspassing do not require a prior written notice of tresspass. Simply failing to leave after being directed to do so is enough.

This. ^

The rider was clearly harmless, if not very smart. LEO should have seen this and DE-ESCALATED the situation, instead he escalates it. And fellow LEO’s should police their own and step in immediately, show loyalty to their oath and people’s constitutional rights, then loyalty to their fellow LEO‘s until they step out of line. I know the peer pressure of the group makes that hard, too bad, each LEO needs to be trained to ignore peer pressure.

Store manager has a responsibility to shoppers to provide safety, but his suspicions do not make the rider guilty.

The LEO seemed to think the riders silence was another strike against him, sorry, no, rider can choose to invoke that constitutional right to remain silent at any time, and it cannot be used to infer guilt.

The “Bully Cop” was responsible for this going downhill, he should have just escorted the rider to his motorcycle and made sure he left the premises.

I just watched the Walmart video.

It seems to me the motorcyclist was doing fairly normal shopping (albeit with a helmet on.)

I do not think the manager made much of an effort to speak to the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist stopped numerous times and the manager was not in the frame.

What if he was deaf or otherwise hearing impaired?

I think the manager and cops way over-reacted. Plus the “tough guy” bullying tactics by the cop were out of line.

There was this episode (in Canada) where an actress in Star Wars costume was arrested by cops:

But then dudes carrying assault style weapons assemble without issue in several cities in the U.S. and A.

Something ain’t right.

All people in society have TO SHOP SOMEWHERE. I see Cadillacs, Benz, and BMW’s in their parking lots everywhere I go. Not sure what your trip is or why you’re so judgmental. Just hope you don’t find yourself in a situation that YOU have to shop there.

And, that's why Texas requires LE warning before an arrest is made. Then there's no doubt in anybody's mind that an offence actually occurred.

2 cops with very tiny wieners. 1 manager with a T rex sized brain. One rider that perhaps shoulda knowed better, but really, what did he do wrong? And once the cops trigger, he was hosed no matter what he did.

And the ultimate evidence, the threat to impound the bike if the dick manager would not let it be parked there..

Of late the cops (the good ones) are getting a raw deal, the ones like these 2 aint helping. And yes I realize the video is from last year sometime.

The type of car someone drives does not dictate their status in society. Plenty of scammers, scums, slimeballs, panhandlers, etc drive fancy cars.

I do shop there but only when I have too. No judgement on my part just experience of what I have seen at Walmart over the years. Of the few times I go there I always see people shoplifting, fighting, arrests, etc. Even loading multiple shopping carts with oil and wont share even one bottle.

Normal law abiding shoppers at Walmart are an exception rather than the rule. Don't take my word for it. Just go to any Walmart across our country and see for yourself. Last time I went there was a parking lot full of used gloves and masks littering the parking lot.

And let's not forget all the homeless motorhomes dumping black water toilet tanks into the parking lots. And women tossing used
baby diapers in parking spaces. This is very unsanitary and not enforced at Walmart.

What you see at your WalMart is what can be seen in variable degrees anywhere in the world. With enough people in a given area you will find a range of egregious behavior. But what happens in your neighborhood WalMart is not what I see at the three WalMart stores I visit.
