GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY

I can say, without any hesitation, they mean it, and stand firmly behind their guarantee.

2015
I buy a pair of Sidi Adventure Gore-tex boots.

2017
On my Alaska ride the boots start leaking around the area of the little plastic shift guard on the left boot. Sucked because I had two weeks remaining on that trip.

I contacted Gore-tex (Sidi doesn't give a crap a year after the warranty expired) . Gore-tex does. They wanted photos, purchases receipts, and eventually the boots for inspection.

The day they arrived at the Gore-tex facility I received an email asking what size I wanted. They had Revzilla send me a new pair of Sidi Adventure Gore-tex 2 boots.

2022
Boots started leaking in exactly the same spot. I reported to Gore-tex the boots they provided me are leaking. I was very clear I did not purchase these boots...they did. Same as before, they wanted photos, and asked me to send in the boots for inspection.

Boots arrived at Gore-tex yesterday, and I was not surprised to have an email from Gore-tex 2 hours later. This time they apologized, and offered me a full refund on my 2015 purchase price.

So I've had 7 years of the most comfortable boots on the market for the total cost of shipping two boxes to Gore-tex.

Does Gore-tex stand behind their guarantee...YES!!

In my opinion, it's stupid to consider any other waterproof technology.

My new Sidi Adventure 2 boots should be here tomorrow. Somehow I suspect I'll be talking to Gore-tex in about 5 years.

A company standing behind their product. A very pleasant surprise. Especially nowadays. My first experience with Gore-Tex was in the mid '80s when I was stationed in New England. It pair of ski gloves made out this new-fangled stuff that's supposed to be waterproof. And the gloves were packed with Thinsulate; also new to me. Yes, they were warm. Yes, they were waterproof. No, I don't know which kid has them now.

I had a similar experience with a pair of Rukka gloves. Bought from RevZilla but the fact that they leaked made no difference to 'Zilla. They said call Held who imports Rukka. They didn't care either. A call to Goretex and it was handled almost exactly as DirtDad's Sidi boots. Awesome!

I did have a pair of Klim Badlands pants develop a leak in the crotch, but Klim was all over taking care of that for me!

several leaks? maybe it is you and NOT the boots.
I hate to agree with you (ever), but I think there might be something to that suggestion.

Gore-Tex is very interested in the condition of the boots and if they have any life remaining. That is stressed in every email. They care about flat spots in the tread. These are the pics I sent.

2017 pair

2022 pair

I suspect it's the number of shifts that eventually wears out the Gore-Tex under the plastic guard.

Why do I think it might be me?... because I tend to ride and not take breaks between gas stops. Once I get going, I'll ride 250 to 350 miles a day or more and only get off the bike 3 times. My boots do a lot of shifting for every mile walked. I suspect my ratio may be lopsided towards the shifting occurrences. My guess is most people wear out the boots walking around more than me, so they never get to a point of the number of shifts required to make them leak.

The KTM has only made things worse. I hate stopping on that thing. An break is a moment I'm not riding. Stupid KTM.

Hi Jaxon,

Both times I just started here. Scroll down on that page and enter the fields provided. They were fast to respond in every correspondence.

I received the refund last night, and an email thanking me for being a loyal customer. They said to look for a survey to tell them how they are doing. Happy to fill that one out.

Just to back up this post, I had the same experience with Gore-tex. My BMW Allround boots (rebranded TCX) started leaking after a good number of years of being perfectly waterproof.

Sent them an email, a picture of my wet feet, picture of the boots cut up so they couldn’t be used again and they promised to replace them. Once they realized they were no longer available, they sent me a payment for my full initial purchase price. Didn’t even have to send them back.

Ever since, everything I have is Gore-Tex. The Klim Latitude pants and jacket have been 100% waterproof so far, same for my Dianese boots. The Roadmaster 1 piece suit was waterproof but is no longer, have to get around to dealing with that.

Like any waterproof layer, after many uses and exposure to sweat and the elements, eventually the material will crack allowing water in. Nice to know that Gore-Tex will stand behind it.

Used to own a Teknic (RIP to the brand) jacket that was 100% waterproof for a number of years before failing. Unfortunately it wasn’t Gore-Tex and the company went bust by the time it started leaking so there was nothing I could do with it.

I noticed my Gaerne Dakar boots have a note under care to keep toenails trimmed so as to avoid damage to the liner. So maybe there’s something to the inside our theory?

Yes, also had somewhat similar experience with Klim. My gen 1 Badlands D30 armor was pretty cracked in multiple places. I told the dealer and he said, bring it in and we'll swap it out. He told me Klim doesn't screw around, he didn't even have to make a phone call. If something is wrong the dealer has the confidence to replace it and knows Klim will back them up.

I know one guy sho sent his jacket to Klim to ask for a zipper replair at whatever it would cost him. Klim just replaced it. I also think it was CW who tried that and Klim told him...it's time to get a new one. (correct me if I have that wrong, bob). My Badlands zipper has seen better days, but it's 6+ years old, has been to hell and back, and has a LOT of miles on it. I suspect Klim would tell me it's time. I'll have to deal with that sooner or later.
