See this Yamaha VIN decoder - page down to DP, about halfway - https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/yamaha-parts/model-prefixhi,
how do you know it was manufactured in 2011, we think that but trying to get to that
rob
yes got that thanks alot but it says my mdel year is 2013 BUT does that mean it was mfg in 2013
rob
Yes
(I have no evidense for this assertion, but why should it be anything else)
Hmmm. that is a surprise for me...Not sure how it works in the rest of the world, but here MFR date and model year do not necessarily equate. My Gen 1 US spec bike was manufactured in 2011. I took delivery in July of 2011. It is a 2012 model year.
Model year is just that, model year. Very important especially in an emissions change year. As an example you build a vehicle on December 31. But it does not leave the factory till Jan 3. It must meet the emissions laws in effect in January, not December.Hmmm. that is a surprise for me...
I'm aware that a xxxx model could have been produced late previous year.
But this must be at least 8 months before model year
Yes of course...I know thisVery important especially in an emissions change year. As an example you build a vehicle on December 31. But it does not leave the factory till Jan 3. It must meet the emissions laws in effect in January, not December.
JYADP03E1DA003179Yes of course...I know this
But still, so many months...do you by any chance have your VIN number available without to much trouble?

ExactlyJust had a look at the VIN sticker on my bike. The format differs slightly and my bike states the sound output to be 89dBa, not 87 like yours. Regardless, there is nothing to give away the date of production. The data that I circled above is part of the type approval number. Again, it differs from my 2016 bike.
Wow... interesting... i wonder why they do this? The 10th digit don't work on the European models...
If you look at the VIN postet from bimota, the 10th digit is 0.
And here mine, also 0 in 10th digit, JYADP071000000846
And picture of VIN sticker and plate.....no date as for as I can see.
