All of the VIN tags in the US have the Mfg date on them... I am surprised it's not on every VIN tag Yamaha uses. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's a factory standard method. My '05 Yamaha FZ6 clearly has a mfg date of 10/04. No need to run the VIN thru a decoder.

So I have to question why this person wants to know the mfg date. They have a VIN, do they not have the bike in their presence? Rather sounds odd. Like trying to sell a bike using stolen pictures from the web and a VIN when you don't have the bike.

its because its registered in 2013 so in the uk on a age related number plate he is curious to when the bike was manufactured it does look like a early one eric.

I'm guessing for the UK market, they do not bother to print the manufacturer's date on the VIN as the full ID of the bike is both the chassis (VIN) and the Engine numbers. (this from seeing rob's registration card)

Oh, well so much for being an international ID standar for vehicles.

I understand the UK can get bikes from other countries and legally register them. And that the year of registration does not necessarily match the mfg year of the bike, just when it was first registered in the UK. Does your VIN sticker on your bike not have a date on it?

Hi
DP01 first generation until 2014 Euro 3
DP04 second generation from 2014 until 2017 (Deepest update of the model)
DP07 2017 Model Euro 4, the worst model, the worst colours, worst ecu mapping
DP07 2019 Last model, wheels improvement
I really do think that siroco have this correct.
AND it is not possible to read more from the VIN. UNLESS you put the vin number in a YAMAHA dokument like this..

DP01 2010 to 2013
DP04 2014 to 2016
DP07 2017- onwards

And as you can see, I have tried to run yours (and Faceboook's) VIN number in this, but it keeps telling me that there is no data on these 2 VIN..
Might be beacuse this is a Scandinavien site...so if you have a similar for GB, try there.
