does anybody know when a bike was manufactured by vin number

theres a guy on facebook has asked when his bike was manufactured he,s given a frame number of JYADP011000000780

anybody any ideas ITS A XT1200 REG IN UK 2013

it is an invalid vin for any bike built after 1981, 10th digit cannot be 0, "O", "I", "Q", "Z" or "U". That is the digit that codes the year.

So my guess it is at most a 1980 model.

mine, also a 2013 is JYADP03EXD_______ , D being 2013 (blanking the last 7 digits for safety reasons)

The VIN is international, not local.

Rob, I've tried two different sites for your VIN and both say there is no year identifier.

Yes, I copied and pasted the vin number you posted into their websites search box. The result is the screenshot I posted.
