Of course "if the shoe fits where it" and for me the ungodly expensive Neotec II fit. I love the ability to scratch my face or run in to pay for gas without looking like Im on a snatch and grab mission. In helmet bluetooth is a game changer for me, no more carefully placed headphones routed to my jacket. I really enjoy the new tech that is going into our lids and belive it translates into more riding less caging.

I just bought a Nolan N1000-5,. I haven't even taken out of the box yet. I am still on the fence in regards to the safety of a full face vs a modular. Since Revzilla wont take a helmet return once you've used it I haven't looked at it. I don't want it to sway me with its gorgeous looks.

IDK if I will keep it. I haven't seen any actual facts that they aren't as safe but it seems like they have an potential to be less safe. IDK maybe I am over thinking it.

I was too. I was the "just go buy a snell helmet and don't worry" But after trying a few modulars I am hooked and dont ever plan on going back.
Key is making sure its a reputable one like that Nolan you bought. They always test well in the SHARP system tests. They haven't tested that 1000 but the other 5 or 6 Nolan modulars they have tested it shows they stayed closed 100% in their impact testing. Also all of them are 4 out of 5 stars (thats what most Snell rated full face get too)

Went on a summer trip to death valley last year.... 125 deg.... 90mph and I lifted the lid and took a drink of water. There was no going back for me ever.

I had the old Shoei Multitech helmet for 10 years, decided to replace it with Neotech 2 this year and I am very satisfied with it. It is much more quieter and the sun screen is marvelous, also locking mechanism is much more easier. Feels very well planted and comfortable on my head.IMG_3643.jpg

@EnnK - Question for you; How do you feel the fit of the Neotech compared to the Multitech? I normally wear a oval helmet. My Multitech fit me fine, but I had to drop down a size, going to a Med when I normally wear a Large. The older traditional Shoeie fit is round and would give me a hot spot on my forehead. The Multitech was a mid-oval shape, but I don't know how it compares to the current Neotech 2. I tried an original Neotech and it wasn't comfortable for my head shape. I have read that the Neotech 2 has a different shape.

My head is clearly an oval shape and I guess that's also why the Neotech 2 fits me better than Multitech. I remember back then I had to take a size larger Multitech than would have been recommended by the size of my head just to avoid the inconvenient pressure on my forehead. As a result it was somwehat loose on my head and with heavier side winds I sometimes got it turning on my head :) I guess it was also a reason why it was not as quiet as due to a more rounder shape it was not tight enough on my ears. Neotech 2 seems to be a perfect fit for me (size M).

My $.02, as I watch rain clouds roll in- My modular Gmax is noisy, but comfortable. I ordered, and tried in the store, a Scorpion, it did not fit well at all. It stayed at the store. I guess I have a huge freakin head, XXL was tight. Wouldn't know I have any surplus of brains though. Ordered and bought an HJC, perfectly serviceable, not quite as noisy as the Gmax. Okay on comfort, it is still not broken in all the way, because I got tired of half-assed sort of good helmets, and bought a Neotec2. But it rides on my eye glasses, and impedes me turning my head when I wear my heavier jacket. I'm sorry I spent the bucks for that, now if I want to use it I'll have to buy new specs. and then, the SRL Sena I suppose. Did not try it out long enough in the store; I was in a hurry. This morning, I grabbed the HJC and a pair of foam ear plugs. Yup, should not have bought that Shoei. And now I am shopping for blue tooth/ noise deadening ear buds.

No one has mentioned the ease of putting on a modular while keeping your eye glasses in place. I had a one piece HJC, but did not like the hassle of taking off glasses, putting on helmet, then threading the temples over my ears.

If you can put your helmet on w/o removing your glasses, you're wearing the wrong size helmet, or it's a very flexible POS.

Sorry, but I've never, ever had or seen/tried on a helmet that was the correct shape that allowed me to put it on while leaving my glasses on. I did learn early on when I started wearing perscription glasses in my 40's that I needed to take my helmet with me when I picked out glasses, and to choose glasses with straiter temple pieces.

I would agree with this comment applied to a non-modular full-face helmet but not to a modular. I've had 3 modular helmets, all properly fitted, as judged both my the helmet manufacturer representative (Shoei) and a safety expert, and can easily don and doff them with my glasses on. This is the primary attraction of modular helmets in my opinion.

Have all three helmets been Shoei?

Had help several times while sizing the helmet, it sits firm, I've been assured I need a helmet this big. But I usually leave my glasses in place while putting it on. That is reason I wanted modular! I may have to adjust them a little, wiggle them into place.

Maybe it is a head shape thing? Or the way my glasses fit my noggin? I'm thinking about spring temples next pair.

Maybe. The only time I've been able to do that was with a cheap and very flexible 3/4 helmet that I used to scooter in.

I can do it with my Shoei. I could do it with the Scorpion I tried- which I did not buy, because it was too tight on my head.

It fits GREAT ! I wear a size large in all helmets prior to this and the large Nolan fit perfect too.

Only bummer is that it really pushes down on my glasses. There doesn't seem to be any room for glasses on the cheek pads.

The sun shade is bitchin. I love how it has different settings.

Another bummer is that I have 2 chins and iwould love the ratchet chin strap to be longer. It's short but not too short to send it back.

It does seem bulbous compared to my Shoei GT Air and RF1200. It is similar in size (shell) to not race helmets.

Over all, it's a keeper. Gotta go for a ride. As looking as it doesn't vibrate at freeway speeds (80+) it should be great.
