I know it's an ad. Or at least, it's some kind of puff-piece article on a Geico website. It doesn't appear to be trying to get someone to give away their hard earned money, or tell anyone that they're "there for us", which are two of the things you accused the ad of in your post. And I sure can't determine what it has to do with "woke" culture (though I see you went back and edited your original post, so that reference isn't there now)

You posted this on a public forum of which I'm a member, so evidently it is for me, and any other member here who wants to look at it. I'm just genuinely perplexed at why this innocuous image from a Geico website got you bouncing off your rev limiter.

GEICO does have some stupid ass commercials. Stupid to the point that I would not use them. Other insurance companies do imply that they are "there for you". I may be wrong, again, but I think the point he was trying to express was that companies insult our intelligence by assuming that we will believe them. And, nondairycreamer is right. . . . some of us do every day.

You are also correct: this is a public forum, of which you are a member. But, all content may not be intended for you. . . . or me. There's plenty of posts/threads that I look at. . . . dismiss. . . . and move onto the next one without commenting. Plenty of times I read them, and think WTF? But, just because I don't understand them, doesn't mean the author should not have posted them.

True I did edit it however you miss the point entirely and write a 3 paragraph post to illustrate your point.

To piggy back off sierra1 some people get some it, some people dont. For some it's just an ad.

I find in galling that they are offering recipes. The nerve! Who do they think they are, Martha Stewart? I mean, it's not like an animated Gecko knows how to cook. And I'm not eating anything that lizards touched.

Nowhere did I say he shouldn't have posted it. I asked him what he was complaining about, since none of the points he brought up in his post were reflected in anything that was said in the screenshot from Geico. If I posted some sort of non-sequitur on a public forum, like a photo of Snoopy with a caption ranting about how Germans don't like dogs, I imagine someone would ask me what my thought process was. If you see something like that and don't understand it, and you choose not to comment, more power to you; I chose to comment. Neither one of those is the wrong response.

No way people are this stupid, even after there degrees, knowledge and formal knowledge?
Their degrees, there is reference to a location. :rolleyes:Yes, people are stupid and there a lot of morons with degrees and formal knowledge. Too many times I've met someone that I would have never guessed they have a formal education and degree unless they told me.
And insurance companies are taking our money for something that might help us, such as paying for the stupidity of our decisions or the other stupid people that drive the roads.

And then there are those that are lazy and/or careless at the keyboard. Or with nothing better to do, such as myself. I'm just doing my part to keep this ball rolling.

I had a person once say if we're going to have a debate you have to speak in an academic way. I said does it really matter if the message is the same? Then followed by your a close minded person who thinks their way is the only way because you went to an institution.

I a bit of what you mentioned but also I like keeping the ball rounding. I like seeing different sides of the ball. With such a collection of mines its truly amazing to see what technology allows us to do.
