I am on my fifth S10 beginning with my Blue PDP 2012 bike.;) It fits me great and is dead stone reliable with little maintenance needed other than the basics.
:pYour FIFTH!?! So you know it's reliable by reputation, not by experience.
(No offense, just teasing. Although I often change bikes. I chose bikes known to be reliable)
I just got the S10 and I'm planning to keep it for a while.
Oh look, Honda just released the Transalp squirrel-dog[1].gif

Bought the first one, rode it 21500 mles in 18 months and sold it to person wanting one all set up. Second bike, 36500 miles in a little over two years and at that time Yamaha was blowing out leftover 2013s……traded for another ‘13 for $3000.00 out the door including TTL and swapped over all of my accessories.
I rode the second 2013 bike 26000 miles and wanted a 14+ bIke for cruise……found a used 4400 mile 2015 and sold the 2013. I rode the 2015 54000 miles and bought a new 2021 after reading the S10 was rumored as discontinued. My 2021 is one year 5 days old and has 19300 miles on it. I have never had a serious problem with any of the five bikes…..had the headlight wiring harness recall on the first bikes, one hard start on my 2012, and nothing since. The valves were checked on two bikes at 27000 miles…..clearances in spec…. I am sold on the S10.

Interesting to note. As of right now there is no Tracer 900 on the Canadian website for 2023.
They’ve announced a Tracer 900 GT + for 2023. It has even more advanced electronics and adaptive cruise. Yamaha is making the Tracer it’s technology flagship.

I would love for Yamaha to give the same treatment to my ST ES as they did to the Tracer 9 and made it a Tracer GT 9+. https://www.motorcycle.com/new-model-preview/2023-yamaha-tracer-9-gt-and-tracer-9-gt-first-look.html

I am not asking too much.

When I bought my ES almost 8 years ago , it was fairly advanced and on par with the R1200GS. I wanted a comfortable Sport Touring bike with easy off road capabilities, shaft drive with all the electronics at the time. (Traction control, ride mode, adjustable suspension, abs etc.) For the time, it was a modern bike. Since then, the competition surpassed it.

Keep it shaft drive, make it Euro 5 compliant , keep the weight and add all the feature you did to the GT 9 + , keep the price slightly lower than the upcoming R1300GS and
I WILL BUY a Yamaha Super Tenere ES +

The only thing i could think of i would want is Semi-active Suspension LED Lighting and comparable engine performance. The Radar is just a gimick. Do an Advanced Riding Course if you want more

Wow best post yet, I wonder how many people have actually taken an Advance Riding Course or any riding course LOL.
One of the things they say is all your bad driving habits go along for the ride on the motorcycle, so how many of you actually shoulder check when changing lanes or is your mirror the go too for the check.
Every one should be shoulder checking, two wheels or four. A simple thing but a skill slowly being forgotten because of reliance on tech.
I love those orange light indicators in the corner of the mirrors telling you a vehicle is there, I can save my neck muscle from a sprain. LOL

I have. Mainly because i had a new GF and we were planning lots of trips. I did it for her safety and mine, 2 up with luggage on a bike i think its a must but each to their own. Really opened my eyes to how little i actually knew. Riding or Driving to a System becomes the norm. You can easily spot people who have not done one. You can ride or drive and not have an incident all your life but in reality your lucky.

I had been riding for over 20 years before taking an advanced riding course. I was a pretty attentive and cautious rider giing in, but I still came out a much better rider all the way around.
IMO, everyone should take one... and a refresher every once in awhile, too.

In Texas it is mandatory to take the basic MSF course get a motorcycle license/endorsement.

I consider me the best, and sometimes the worst, safety feature on my bike.

Amen. Besides teaching the BRC, I take some training every year.

And yes, I head check

And that's one of the reasons why I think the T-12 will end up as the Tracer 1000 GT. Keeping the "smaller" displacements as the "desert" bikes.
