Anyone interested in a ride west of Denver? I've wanted to get back out to the area of Kenosha pass & Jefferson for a while now.

I have a couple of requests:
If I get banged up at least hook up a tow strap to me and drag me out to a main road.
I like to keep both wheels on the ground, so I don't try to break the sound barrier on trails. If you get ahead just wait at the next trail intersection.

I'm up for packing a lunch or getting one of those BBQ sandwiches at the Caboose in Jefferson.

Anyone game?

Wow, that's big weekend. Daughter to college are tough words for a dad.....

Be sure to pick up a tow strap if you want to come on a different ride!.... :)

Paul466 just PM-ed me, he's in.

Anyone else? Figure we'll meet up at the Conoco in Morrison at 7:00 AM Saturday.

We'll leave about 7:30. I'm thinking of getting lunch in Jefferson, it's hard to pass on that BBQ pulled pork sandwich.

Is this going to be an all-paved road ride?

Do you have a route in mind?

TIA!
No. I was thinking of jumping off 285 just before Kenosha pass, to the north. There's a bunch of dirt trails that take you over the mtn to trails north of Jefferson. We can also hit the trails south of Jefferson toward Terryall. All the dirt is pretty easy rolling, some require picking a decent line.

I didn't spend a ton of time on the trails yesterday. I'll go back and explore more when I have a wing man. I also went up to Georgia Pass.

I had forgotten what these trails were like! I think I was on the 811 trail, I forgot about that steep little descent with loose rock. The ABS kicked in and worked like a charm. For sure I stayed off that climb up to the open camp site on the hill top on the 811 with all the loose rock/wet sand.

Most of the trails required I pick a good line to navigate the erosion ruts. This area also requires a skid plate, it's not bad but there's enough loose rock on the surface to bring some up against the bottom of the bike.

I got to do 2 water crossings. The last one near the large open camping site north of Jefferson was deeper than I've seen it. Big fun.
