My belief is that the factory switch runs the horn direct, and for aftermarket high amp horns you should add a relay.

if you have the plug and play kit (like this one: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/denali-plug-n-play-wiring-harness-for-dual-tone-airhorns), the relay that came with the horn plugs into the socket in the wiring harness. If you just bought the horn kit, you'll need to add a harness, either buying a premade one like this or making one yourself. The instructions here will give you an idea of what you need and how to install the premade or your own harness: https://www.revzilla.com/assets/0002/5865/denali_plug_n_play_wiring_harness_for_dual_tone_airhorns.pdf. If you have a power distribution block like the PDM60 (https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/rowe-electronics-pdm60-power-distribution-module) you don't need the relay since the module can provide sufficient amps for this horn.

Thanks, I have the plug and play wiring harness, just don't know where the relay socket is to plug into? Edbo (wiring not my specialty!)

The relay (that should have come with the horn) plugs into the socket on the plug-and-play harness. (See step 3.4 and some of the other illustrations in these instructions...https://www.revzilla.com/assets/0002/5865/denali_plug_n_play_wiring_harness_for_dual_tone_airhorns.pdf). You just tuck that away somewhere where it won't rattle around...on my 2012, that's down on the lower right front behind the panel...I stuck it to a flat spot using some heavy duty double stick tape. The harness connects as shown in the instructions. The relay gets its power from the two thicker wires that go to the battery. And it sends that power to the horn when it's triggered by the horn switch (the wiring loop on the harness with the light weight wires).
