Ill make sure to keep an eye on their website.
When I looked at new inventory in stock earlier they had a '18 Super Ten. I didn't look to see if it was ES or not.

So Ive been waiting for a S10 to pop up local for a couple months, the big BMW/Triumph Dealer got one this week. Contact a salesmen to verify where the bike was as they have two locations in town. He was not working today, so just said see anyone when you get there. Okay Great.

Spent 4 hours last night taking crap off my Versys that I want to keep and giving it a bath figuring its a fair shot ill take a new bike home. Cancel plans with friends for a ride so I can get to the dealership when they open.

Get there, do a lap around their lot on my bike don't see the S10 hmmmm
Go inside 4 salesmen standing there, don't even bother to say Hi to me hmmmmmm
Do a lap of the interior, no S10, ask one of the salesmen if they know where the used S10 is. "Not sure" then he literally turned away from me and kept going a conversation with another of the sales staff......
Needless to say I left.

Decided to email the salesman I had talked to. Just to let him know what was going on, on his day off. Get a call from sales manager, saying that shouldn't have happened and to come back they had the bike on the back lot. So I drive across town again, get there, take a look at the bike, go inside to start talking numbers and trade value. Then he drops this cherry..... "yeah Ill make sure to rush it through the used inspection so should only take 2 weeks till you can pick it up"

Why list a bike that is 3 weeks from being ready for sale? What the heck kind of inspection takes 2 weeks? Sheesh,I just left. Didn't even say anything.
Wow, by this time I would be talking to more than the Sales Manager. Ask him to set up a meeting with the owner? I was in a major Canadian city motorcycle shop last week just looking and talked to the same guy I do every year. He took me into the back to show me the 30 bikes lined up for inspection to go out the door. This is every week.

Yeah I'm going to go gen 1 to keep it in budget. I just put too many miles on a bike per year (24,000 last year) to consider buying a newer one, Id take a beating when it comes time to off load it.

Thankfully in no hurry. I love the Versys I have now its literally my ideal bike (other than chain), so its not a big deal to wait a few months and see what happens. I'm near tempted to keep the V, if I had the garage space It wouldn't even be a question. But 3 bikes just wont work long term.

My local dealership has known me as the guy with the modded Vmax for the last 12 years or so that when I showed up to get parts for a oil change the whole shop had to come out to see the Super Tenere, a bike they have never seen before. The service manager at least knew about the crossplane motor. They will get the first few tire changes on her but I have already talked to another shop about 2 hours from me if they knew anything about the ST which they said yes that they had a couple locally that they work on. I'm going have to find out who they are and get some feedback. There is a guy on ADVRider called YooperBob that leads trail rides for beginners and I am going to have to get in on those rides to see if there are other ST riders that he knows of.

All are side-by-side and 4 wheelers.
Phew! Thought maybe they were only carrying pianos. The local dealer here has a few ATV/UTVs, and even some water craft; but they have a huge inventory of bikes. All sizes and styles.

My local Yamaha dealer carries ATV/UTV during summer, snowmobiles, trailers, and a few cruisers and occasional sport bike/ small dirt bikes. No piano's thankfully.

I try to do everything I can as far as maintenance. The dealership I bought mine from in SC has my Honda 650 xr for almost two months now. Carb was leaking. When I called last week now they are telling me I need a new carb, the old one is beyond repair. Bike ran fine except for the leaking. It makes you want to pull out your hair. BTW I won't let them touch my S10. When I got 2oil filters for it the parts girl ( hired for her bra size) asked me if a Tenere was a personal watercraft. WTF. DEALERSHIPS SUCK.
Does anyone on this forum know of a dealer in NC or SC that is up to speed on S10's?

If it aint a 4 wheeler or a cruiser. It's just as bad here in Ms. I called the dealer that checked my valves 3 years ago to see if they would check them. I asked if they had ever done a check on a tenere. They called me back and said no. WTF

I started looking at S10's right around the 2014 refresh. A dealer 70 miles from me advertised a left over 2013 demo bike for $8800. That pricing pushed me over the top - I headed to the dealership the next day to buy that bike.

After a cold 70 mile ride, I found my baby parked inside right in front of the entrance. I looked at it, I sat on it, I stood on the pegs. I slobbered on that bike for a good 20 minutes. Several salesmen walked past and no one said a word to me.
I sat down at a chair in front of the front salesman's desk. A few more sales people walked by saying nothing... probably another 20 minutes I sat there.

Eventually I'd had enough and got up and walked out. I was pissed that I'd wasted a half a day of freezing riding to get a new bike that they just didn't want to sell.

Luckily in the next few days I decided to get a 2014 for the cruise control and other updates. Again a few dealers seemed like they didn't want to be bothered.
I finally got an email reply from a place that said they didn't have one, but if I wanted one, they'd be happy to find one and sell it to me. Deal was made over email, a few days later bike was assembled and guy sent me a pic. I went to pick it up with my trade, easy peazy. They even had the shop guys set up the sag for me before I left. Best experience ever.

My take-away: not everyone wants your business. The ones who don't don't deserve it, the ones who do will create a great experience. Take the time to find one of the ones who do.

Steve68Steve Don't pass judgement on them until you need some service done. The dealer that sold me mine was fine until I needed a recall done. Good luck with your new bike.

Ride 70 miles in the cold and you didn’t try to talk to them?
Why wouldn’t you say something to them.
Maybe, just maybe the sales staff thought that you were already being taken care of.
I work at a very busy multi brand dealership and I understand how this can and does happen.
