True enough, but it is mostly apples-oranges marketing to those that haven't ordered one. I really do feel the Yamaha gives you more than the others, but I can't say the comparisons they made would have convinced me to leave one of the other and buy the S10.

Better to do your own legwork than have someone do it for you. They're not you, so have different expectations and requirements. I find it amazing how many feel Consumer Reports is fair and unbiased, the last word and completely trustworthy. We had some of their "best buy" cars for company cars, which were complete heaps in no time at all. So much for "best buys." Some of their other recommendations have been just as accurate. Needless to say, I dropped my subscription to what has proven to me to be nothing more than printing to fill pages. Or a cult, can't decide which it is. Same thing with bikes: if you ask someone that actually has one, it is often better than reading every magazine looking for one that agrees with you. I have a very long relationship with Yamaha, worked at a shop in the very early 70s (long gone, the owner was a real ass, no one will miss him!) and like how they overbuild everything. It plays into my natural tendencies of over engineering.

Yamaguy55,

You are absolutely right that it is best to your own comparisons and test rides. Some of the comparisons on the yamaha website are just comparison's of the standard features, which are just factual.
