Its this weekend, 10-18 through 10-21
Any of you guys going?
I have Friday off and was planning to head over to JB's fish camp in New Symrna beach for lunch and then main street in Daytona beach to see the mayhem.
I like to go again on Sunday to get the reduced price on the tee-shirts....

I'll be at the speedway on Saturday early AM, and a bunch of us are meeting at Martins Rest. in Flagler at 11:30. If you can make it swing on by.

Wow, glad I saw this. I have been so busy farkling my new S10 I forgot all about Daytona Otoberfest this weekend. I think I will head up Saturday but can't get away until around 10:00 AM. Sunday is out as I am leaving on on the S10 for a three day 1000 mile round trip up to the panhandle in the AM . Hope to see some of you there.

Spent the day there Saturday, wow what a disappointment! No demo rides from Honda, or BMW, or Triumph. I saw a huge reduction in vendors maybe by about 75% and the place was empty. It's easy to see the state of the economy after seeing how Biketoberfest fared. There has been only one other time in all the years that I ave gone there that is was this bad, that was in fall of 2008. I go for the demo rides only, and won't be going back any time soon.

Had a chance to catch old friends at the RTE at Martins, and that was the high point of the day.

Hey Clem, are you talking about the Raceway being empty? I didn't go there, just did the main street area and that was a full house though down from previous years.
I thought the demo rides were only during bikeweek in March.
Did any of the other brands offer demo rides?
Its tough for an even like this to have two areas on separate parts of town.

By Sunday morning, the tee-shirts were already 7 for $20

The raceway was empty, and there was maybe 15% of the vendors that they usually have. There was parking on Main street at 0900, unheard of, in past years, you'd be paying $5 for parking and you'd be walking. Sunshine mall was maybe 20% with boss hoss there, empty. Bmw and Triumph were not offering demo rides till the recession "picked up" In past years, we were waiting in line to ride Triumphs, I say there with one other rider in the lot, empty. Beach street was empty, front row parking. Honda was nowhere to be found, Victory, kawasaki, can am, absent... Suzuki had a few bikes and Yamaha had one trailer with a few bikes. For the past 15 years, Biktoberfest has offered demo rides, as has bike week. Ended up at Destination Daytona, and a few people were there. It will be while before I go back, riding at 4:30 AM for demo rides just lost it's luster.

I was also very disappointed. :(
Only Suzuki and Yamaha had any demo rides and they had nothing new. Nothing I wanted to ride. Both had a very minimal set ups. I don't go for the downtown bar scene, just the the new bikes and stuff. I left after about an hour. That was about all I could take of loud HD's and lifestyle posers. There was not much there for ADV types.
I sure hope it improves for bike week.

I plan on being in Orland for AIMExpo that weekend. Hope to see the FJ-09 there and maybe take a demo ride on one if they have it in the demo fleet.
Last year the guys from EBR suggested they would be showing the EBR Adventure Tourer this year.... I'm hoping.

Last year I got a good deal on Givi Outback panniers/racks and Darla light. If your in the market for accessories you to may want to visit AIMExpo.

Can you share what deal you got on the Givis Outbacks? In the market for a set.

10% discount, free shipping, no sales tax.
Paul Collins, a Brit(he talks funny!) and CEO of Give USA is the guy who made the deal.
I had to wait for about 6 week for the panniers to arrive in country, mine were the 1st black in the USA.
There was a minor water leak at the bottom. It only took one phone call to Paul Collins and a new pair of panniers and a return shipping label were on the way to me. I've very happy with the customer service and the product. I also purchased the pannier liners and highly recommend them, they're like fine luggage! Givi product and customer service get ::008:: ::008::

I think you'll be happy if you go with the Outbacks.
