bought this bike a few days past Christmas and here it is in late august with a touch over 1200 miles and a big failure . between work weather pandemic , I just haven't had a lot of time to ride . about a month ago started bike and I could barely read the right half of the "meter " (that's what the dealer calls it ) I call it the dash board ; speedometer tach etc.... by the next ride it seemed to be back to normal but the right side was a lot darker . you can see the display but it is noticeably darker . have a Colorado trip planned with a buddy and was concerned that something was wrong here . so what happens if the dash completely fails and you can not see anything ? if you cannot read your speed or know your settings can that be a good situation . will the bike even work at all , could it leave you stranded ? so I cancelled the trip (decided to do a car trip with wife ) and scheduled a visit to the dealership. and c19 rules means a had to make an appointment to drop off bike a week before they even will look at it . and Wednesday got a call saying the meter is trashed and needs to be replaced (so I'm not imagining what I'm seeing ) and this morning the dealer says that part is back logged and not available till after September 14 th. so they will not be able to even order till the 14 th at earliest . then a little icing on the cake , dealer says battery is failing and I will have to replace it . brand new bike with brand new battery (their price is 340.00 to install , nope , I will do that myself ) So has anyone else had this issue ? thinking maybe I should have bought the overpriced Bavarian coffee shop wonder bike ...... you kinda expect this from them , not Yamaha . so the big question is this going to be a long term issue to be worried about or a one off issue that the replacement part will fix forever ? the part is 700.00 just saying.
