Coming home from a movie last night and noticed a Dampening error light.

Could not change the settings while riding.

Stopped and got gas (5.63 gallons) and the error light was still on after restarting.

Got home turned off the engine and restarted... the error light was still on. Tired went to bed.

Got up this morning... turned on the ignition and the error light came on then went off... started the engine and all was well.

Will access the error codes later.

Like Dirt Dad wrote.
I just checked over on FJRForum (same system) and see nothing over there. If it's that rare, you might first just check for a loose connection. Even so, this is your new bike and ought to be in warranty.

I was hoping to get information / experiences from here. Have plans to submit this information to the local Yamaha Service Department for a information trail.

where is this light and what do you use to down load codes (am a bit new here!)
It is a 2015 ES. The lights are across the bottom of the dash. They all light up and off when the key is turned on.

Its been a week and more than a thousand miles of riding and the Dampening Error Light has not reoccurred. I will go with the positive.

Over a thousand miles in a week...sounds like a good week.

I did notice the light you mentioned at the end of the row on the panel. I feel like I'm constantly making suspension changes on fly on the ES. Still have not seen it come on. I do hope your brief experience is the last any of us hear about this light.

There is a suspension light that blinks when system is overheating, after many changes have been done (red that in the manual when my ES was new). Did you play several time with the settings before seing this light?

No. Changed the setting before going to the theater. Rode to the theater. Shut it off and locked it up. Started it up and rode away - did not notice the light until on the freeway. Cycled it a couple times after I got home, no luck. The next morning the light and dash was cleared. "FM"
