My Dad takes in his brand new bike for 500 mile service to dealership......(My Dad is a take his bike to dealership for regular service eventhough he is a darn good mechanic...) Well did I mention, 500 Mile service? Bike needs a water pump and fork seals are blown, leaking........Told him they need to keep his new bike for at least 3 weeks to wait on parts. ALSO!!!! Tried to tell him it may not be covered under warranty because fork seals and water pump is considered a wear item!!! 500 miles!!!! My Dad said he didn't notice water pump leaking and there was NO coolant spilled on his garage floor...so he's puzzled about that and no oil as in fork oil spilled anywhere? Acted like they are doing him a favor by asking Triumph to cover it under warranty!!!! Then the mechanic goes on to tell him that sometimes parts get jostled (water pump and fork seals) when the bike is shipped from England!!! (As if my Dad didn't know the bike comes in a crate and is put together at dealership) And the Scrambler is meant to do some off-roading...so...some jostling should NOT break a water pump. And should NOT blow fork seals! Other sad part is my Dad was getting ready to do a lot of riding, just added a new windscreen the night before and had been waiting for the right weather as the weather hasn't been the best riding conditions since he got the bike.
