Nothing against Cyclops, I use their LED products, but their TPMS is overpriced in my opinion.

If you want to save $60 and don't require the dedicated 12v power source offered with the Cyclops TPMS, you can get the same unit from the original manufacturer (No Cyclops does not make these) that runs on a lithium battery:

SPY Motorcycle TPMS

I found it on Amazon for less than $60 shipped w/ Prime:

NEWekey Motorcycle TPMS

Now I know that "NEWekey" doesn't equal "SPY", but If you look at the questions on the Amazon page, you will notice the email address referenced by the seller is "newekey@lff.cn" which is the SPY DNS domain.

I have been running the SPY/NEWekey TPMS on my bike for a short time now, and working as expected.

Not hating on Cyclops, just offering an alternative to keep more money in your pocket for future farkles. :)

Gave the TPMS system a real workout this weekend in the backwoods. of Arkansas Lots of rough terrain and tons of water crossings (they got over 6" of rain in a few hours). I was worried how the wheel sensors would handle being submerged and vibrations overall, but the system took it all without a hiccup. Overall very happy; however, the LCD screen can be difficult to read w/ polarized sunglasses.

@prowlnS10 - What's the point of your post? It reads like advertising, but you're not identifying yourself as a representative. You're just now posting this, but claiming 3 years of use? The product is well known already.

And All Caps is considered yelling. No need to yell.

Yes, a triangle set up is easy to recognize. Buy you don't have that. You have a trapezoidal shape, which mimics that of a car, farther away and doesn't stand out in traffic at all.

You're not inviting a discussion, not really telling us anything new or even offering much of a review, just sort of a look at this post. I'm just not seeing the point. It's not new. It's not different, and there are plenty of threads about the Cyclops products already.

I've had terrible luck with Cyclops bulbs. I'll never buy another one. Mine all went out right out of the 1 year warranty. The thing that made me buy them was the advertisement boasted some outrageous bulb life. I called cyclops and told the guy that their claim on bulb life was false advertising. I think they remove it from the ad after that

I've had 3 Cyclops bulbs dim down and nearly go out on me. Done with them. I will keep the deeper covers and try something else. The problem may be that these LED bulbs just don't like being cooped up under a cover. I think they are designed expecting the fan/heat sink to be exposed to ambient air.

had one fail , the other is still working , bought a replacement that they said was new and improved , seems so to me , replacing filament bulbs 2 to 3 times a year was more expensive than replacing the one cyclops , so far. they are very bright.

one Of my cyclops bulbs failed with less than 10,000 miles and just over one year of use, they did give me a slight discount on a new pair but I most likely will never buy anything from cyclops again.
I will never again buy LED bulbs with those square igniters or what ever there called, they are just a royal pain to install or un install. Now if they actually lasted for 500,000 miles like cyclops was claiming yes then I would be willing to buy them Again.

I have 2 cyclops bulbs on my Tenere, one on my wifes FZ07 and 2 on my daughters CBR500RR, they are all 3+ years old and not had a single one fail, a bit pricey but for me they have been very reliable!! I bought cheaper LED bulbs for my dirtbikes and they are all still working so I cant say Cyclops is better than the cheaper LED bulbs, but they certainly aren't worse!! My tenere also has the covers on the back of the headlights, but my wife's and daughters bikes have the bulbs open to the outside world (more air).

It's not so much time as miles. How many miles do you guesstimate on each of those installs?

The tenere Bulbs have 14K miles on them, the FZ07 bulb has 8K miles and the CBR500 bulbs have 5K miles, so not very high mileage but they all still work great.

Yes sir miles is the issue, before one of my Cyclops bulbs burned out I was pretty happy, but less than 10,000 miles just ain’t enough to make me want to buy the same bulbs ever again.

The tenere Bulbs have !4K miles on them, the FZ07 bulb has 8K miles and the CBR500 bulbs have 5K miles, so not very high mileage but they all still work great.

Sorry guys, that should have said 14K miles not !4K miles, must have accidentally hit the shift key as I typed the one. I agree I want them to last more than 10 or even 20K miles, time will tell if they do!!

Not the greatest picture, but you can see on the bulb on the right, it is missing the little bubble over the LED. Also the base has a little more heat tint then the other one. The burnt out one is the second gen, while the good one is a first gen, and has been mounted on the right side.

Last bulb that went bad on me, the little bulb just discolored.

Replacing them with Novsight, just the ballast is longer than the Cyclops, and I haven't been able to get them in the space between the lens and housing.

Which version of the Novsight do you have? Some have no inline ballast. I'm running a pair of A385-N7-H7 versions.

So what is the purpose of the ballast anyway? Some bulbs have them some don't yet seem to share similar specifications. I noticed the replacement set I installed (can't recall the name) didn't have them. One of them didn't work until I reversed the plug. Thinking I got lucky with the Cyclops or maybe the ballast lets you plug them in either way? If that's all it does it's not worth the hassle of fitting it somewhere.

And for the LED lamps it basically is the same. Except Unlike fluorescent tubes, LEDs don't really require a ballast to regulate current. That's why in fluorescent fixture when you convert it to LED you just remove and wire bypass the ballast. So some LED kits may have ballasts to compensate for the type of LED being used, or in some attempt to improve longevity. But... the ballasts get hot too, so with those tucked inside the headlight housing that's even more heat that's not escaping.

In regards to the LED bulb not lighting off at first, but working when you reversed the wires, AFAIK, all LEDs are diodes, so current only flows in one direction. You had a 50% chance of getting it right the first time. ;) No harm done and reversing the plug makes them work.

Currently not home, I will need to look, but the ballast is about 1/3 longer then the Cyclops, so think I just ordered the wrong size.
