From what I understand, yes you can........... What I find that works well and easy is this......... before I know Im about to flush the fluid I go out to a little gas field and lock up the rear wheel and cycle the ABS pump a few times... I then flush the fluid. If I have time, I will flush the fluid and then go back out to the grass and cycle the pump a few more times and come back and do a semi-flush again. Has worked well over the years.

Yes!
Cycle the ABS system regularly.................especially if you live in a wet/salty climate.
Use the center-stand method, or the grassy-field method as Tabasco mentioned.
Also activate your "Linked-Braking" system regularly, for the same reasons.

I made up a little test kit for cycling the ABS pump and keep it under my seat. Since I have my seat off multiple times a year, it'll be a reminder that the task should be done. I made up a cheat sheet for the instructions on how to do it (because I'm fairly sure I'd forget them in the interval between the task). I made a jumper wire out of one of those cheapie electrical leads they sell on Amazon.

This is the cheat sheet, with some photos:

And the jumper wire:

I figure if I have the jumper and the instructions with me, I can cycle the pump wherever I am, and won't even have to look for an appropriate road surface to trigger the ABS.

I attached a PDF of my cheat sheet, in case anyone wants to cut it out and do the same thing I did. It's for a 2014 model, so I don't guarantee that these instructions work for every model year.

I like the post but I also am a visual guy. :)

If I see someone do it I am a lot less likely to fail or screw something up.
