Thanks for asking!

So to refresh, my CC would not engage despite the light on dash being illuminated, brakes not being "engaged" to the point of keeping CC from engaging and having the front brake switch recall performed. For you electronic gurus, please feel free to add your insight here. They said they checked the voltage at the cruise control wiring harness and got 13.5v. It measured 15.7ohms when set button pressed. They diagnosed this as a faulty left hand switch assembly which they replaced. Still had same issue after replacement. Hooked up to Yamaha diag tool and cleared codes. It showed that the cruise would engage and then quickly shut off; CC cancel switch was cutting all power to the CC switch. They had to engage with Yamaha tech support to ultimately clear whatever codes were responsible.

Not sure I understand exactly what was wrong here but I give them credit for not charging me an arm and a leg for all the diagnosis. CC now works, I have a new switch cluster on the left side of bar. Was the original switch faulty?? I'm not sure but glad to have my bike back and it now working. Unlike many who don't seem to care for CC, it is a must have on any long distance bike for me. Riding 10 hours of boring Texas highways to get to NM or Colorado requires it for me!

I hope somehow this helps someone else who is having CC issues and they are not resolved by having the brake recall completed.
did you find out where that 5amp fuse was

Sorry it took me a while to get this posted here.
I never got to speak with the tech that diagnosed problem and changed fuse. I did speak with the guy that wrote up the ticket and took my $108.00.
He told me that the fuse was in fuse boxes, not an inline fuse like he had said before.
Anyway, I removed lower right hand cover and found only 1 fuse that was different from the others. My pic will show it like the others, but tech had put in a 10 amp fuse in place of the original 7.5 amp. I replaced the 10 amp with one of the original extra fuses, with the amperage marked in white.
Hope this might help someone down the road...

that one you have the blue pen pointing at should be 10a, that right fuse box from top to bottom should be 20a,10a,7.5a,3a,7.5a,20a

that one the blue pen points at is signalling system fuse that is 10a

I think I'll leave it like it is, with the 7.5 amp. Do full image and scroll down.
I tried to use the manual that was pictured in your post above. A voice came on my computer that, I had been hacked and I need to contact them immediately !

Good news today! I took ST into local dealership and had a diagnostics run.
Problem was an inline 5amp fuse that is not under the right side A & B covers. This 5amp fuse supplies power to the horn, tag light, tail light.
Fuse replacement fixed all my problems. The technician that fixed this was at lunch when I picked up the ST. Service guy said he would find out exactly where this hidden inline fuse is at and let me know.
When I get that info, I will share it here.
Ride Safe everyone
Did they ever get back to you to tell you where that 5amp inline fuse is located?

hwy12,
As Scott123007 said above, look at post #24
There is also a Pic of the fuse in place on the bike.

Greetings from Toronto, glad you fixed it!.. I'm in the same boat; a month ago, I got a flashing CC light and then just the solid light but did not engage anymore... today I went to the dealer for the recall hoping that fixes it, but NOPE... so this weekend I'll spend some time reviewing the other easy "fix" solutions to avoid going to the dealer for a code cleaning magic... wish me luck
