Having to compress a crossing of Montana/Wyoming's famed Beartooth Pass Highway into a seven day turn around, I left my beloved Super Tenere at home, flew to Montana, thumbed my way to Red Lodge and rented a surprisingly capable (and fun) Royal Enfield Himalayan for the adventure. Here's my review of the ride and the little bike: https://thechurchoftheopenroad.blogspot.com/2019/08/summiting-beartooth-pass-on-royal.html. I'm giving great consideration as to how to squeeze one o' these into my garage!

Glad you had a good time on the RE. Nice wordsmithing too. Not quite understanding your math on the other possibility, (S10 to WY & back in 7 days), but that's me. :) Nice to ride un-laden for Beartooth. Take the long way around next time. Chief Joseph is worth the ride too.

Undisclosed: There was wine, whiskey and cigars to be had outside the house we rented on Rock Creek. Weighed four to five days of riding v. a couple of nights of Knob Creek and rushing water and the ST took second fiddle... :). But I understand your point...

Speaking of RE Himalayans, saw my first one on the road this evening. Didn’t look like the rider was having any issues keeping up with 70-75 MPH traffic.
