(SIDE FUNNY NOTE) I had a customer once bring be his brand new Tenere... Cant remember specifically why he brought it to me, but he took it upon himself to remove EVERY bolt he possibly could, and then put RED LOCTIGHT on everything. I was not far into his bike and said, NOPE. He was standing there and he said he has only owned Harley's his whole life. He told me- "when you bring them home you take it apart and add red loctight to every bolt and nut you can take off". I don't remember what was specifically said but I stopped working on the bike and kindly suggested he have not done that. Someone working on that bike in the future will have a SUPER FUN JOY on their hands....... LOL OMGosh !
Can you imagine, EVERY bolt and nut with red loctight.... EVERY ONE... he did a good job "eye-roll" LOL
To me that would be a facepalm where you just return it no charge, and wish him well. Life's too short for that aggravation.

o_O Holy s**t. I have a buddy with one of the HD baggers. He has as many miles on his HD, as eemsreno has on his Yamaha. He loves tinkering, and taking it apart. There's no way he would use the red, as often as he's taking it apart.

The only thing on a motorcycle I have soaked in Red Loctite is one of the fork lugs on my 45mm Marzocchi's. The fork tube would loosen no matter what I did to keep it tight. Now it will take heat to remove.

Back in the 90's I had to replace water pumps on generators my boss had previously replaced using the red. Frustrating!! Then a Canadian guy came to work with us and suggested using Never Seez on a lot of fasteners. This dude was pretty darn smart. I figured he was only suggesting Never Seez because of him raised in cold climate. I use it as much as I do Blue Loctite to this day!!

Harley -- Blue Loctite. No reason for red. Have watched several parts on my last Harley bounce down the road when not Loctited.

One thing with my new Tiger, Triumph is not shy with the Loctite.
