Well, that's very true, but only for about 11 months out of the year. The rest of the time it would stand out like a road flare. R

Why would we? From what I have seen of the black bikes, they are the cats meow. Can't wait to get it.

+1 for white. when I saw it, I was transported back to how badly I, as a teenager, wanted the first RZ350 when it came out in that color scheme. still looks fine in all the other colors, but you just know when you see it, that that's the one.

I'd replace my Impact Blue with Competition White in a heartbeat!
What’s less than a heartbeat? Cuz’ that’s how fast I’d do it…

…on the other hand, I wouldn’t mind seeing it in Cadmium Yellow either. :)

Another vote for white here. Years ago I had a '82 Seca Turbo (awesome bike, BTW) and I had it repainted a Pearl White. It turned out beautiful! It would practically glow gold in the sunlight! Wish I still had some pictures of the bike.........

How do we start a color choice poll?

Perhaps we can send to Yamaha and they will listen??

My choices:

1. White
2. Yeller
3. Raven
4. Blue (only if I had to), heard they are the slowest of the bunch ???
5. Silver/Grey (been there, done that)
Maybe red, but not a needful thing.

Hey Guys,
just looking at the Competition white model. looks like only a couple pieces make it white? tank, sidepieces (2) and front fender...anybody thought about just painting those pieces, or a combination of those pieces and be totally custom? is tank metal? couldn't tell if back fender was white? just a thought as I know someone who paints...might be too expensive just to pay retail... or maybe... I'll just get a bunch of the white super tenere stickers and cover everything! ha!

It's certainly possible to do a respray but unless you paint or have a sweetheart deal with someone who paints, you're probably looking at $1500 for paint that probably won't be as durable and an instant hit on bike resale since resprays are almost always assumed to be due to crashing. Makes more sense as the bike ages, accumulates nicks, and resale hit declines.

Painting is an art - it's easy to do a half-ass job, but extraordinarily difficult to do a really nice job. And the best paint job is usually the original paint job.

Tangentially, I test road a new Multistrada a couple days ago. Impressive power and handling, but this is a pure pavement sportbike with upright ergos rather than an adventure bike. I couldn't imagine doing anything other than the most benign gravel roads on one.

Concur with that ... it does get down the road a bit sharpish though. I enjoyed the machine but in a different way. When I was buying my XT1200Z I asked my local Ducati salesman which he'd buy if wanted an adventure bike and he said Yamaha all the way.

Yep, better wind protection and more plush suspension on the Super Ten. But, I am enjoying the MTS while I wait. LOL.

Mount Magazine, Ark. this pass weekend, hwy 27 and 7 were great and not crowded. The bad wx stayed to the north and west all weekend.

Not enough white in my opinion. The black side panels need to be white for it to be really effective

Like these and pearl white ;)
I have been riding the top one (but in black) for 4 years now and was lusting after the bottom one. Wanted it, had to have it, rode it, really had to have it, got the jitters about it. Problem was it is expensive and was going to take a long time to afford. The out of the blue (literally) comes my ride on the Super Tenere last November in San Mateo and the 1200 Multi is tossed out the door for the new Super Tenere. All that said the 1200 Multi remains an incredible motorcycle and an engineering tour-de-force and if money were no object I would have one of those two. But this was a thread about the Tenere white and I was just saying that Yamaha could have gone to school on the Ducati paint scheme; more white and a very cool white. If you have not seen the Ducati pearl white you need to do so. That is a white about a mile deep and very very sophisticated.
