So somewhere between Boulder, Montrose, Telluride, and Canyon City. Nice small area.

Or was that the first day’s ride route?

Either way I could be in depending on dates!

That is pretty vague... I say you narrow down the location; I suggest somewhere west of Denver, between Craig and Durango. ;)
I'm open in August.
For guaging possible interest for attendance I think locking in dates is more important than the exact location.

I will already be in CO the last two weeks of July so inside that window is my vote. Staying first in Gunnison then Silverton.

Buena Vista might be a good location. It's centrally located, not too touristy, and has several motels and campgrounds.
Hi Gunner
The campgrounds around BV stink,[hot and dry] unless your talking about forest campgrounds.
That said, Buena Vista is Great! Fantastic riding around there.

Steve,
You're right, the town sits down in the valley so there aren't many trees for shade.
What do you think about Gunnison?

I'm not sure about the camping around Gunnison, we always camped up in Taylor Park.
Hay, that's an Idea too, Taylor Park Trading Post, Camping, Cabins, Café. Great place.
Paved road all the way in to the Trading Post
The trails might be a little over the top for Tenere's
It would have better temps at Gunnison than BV [cooler] in July and Aug.
Still great riding out of there.

What's the road like going from Taylor Park down to Buena Vista?

I have read that they are paving it all the way and the road has been under construction for two years now,
It was very clean gravel on the west side and paved on the east side of Cottonwood Pass last time I went over.
Crested Butte, Tincup and Pitkin are cool towns in the area.
Easy gravel passes in the area would be.
Kebler Pass
Cumberland Pass
Spring Creek Pass
Waunita Pass
A little more challenging trails would be.
Union Park to Slaughterhouse Creek
Italian Creek
Cement Creek
Texas Creek
Alpine Tunnel Road
Gold Creek
Jones Gulch road
Extreme Passes in the area would be
Tincup Pass
Hancock Pass
American Flag Mt.
Passes that I would consider unridable on a Tenere
Taylor
Tomichi
Williams
Pearl
