Colorado - Rally /Meet July 26-28, 2019

Okay let me do my forensic take on this thread in Cliff Notes.
OP started thread wanting to spearhead a CO meet.
This is in the Western Region forum, not an entire site Tenere 2019 rally.
He stated possible dates in July he was available and asking input to finalize dates and location.
Thread kinda took off which is good but in doing so "his" meetup was becoming a national rally.
Steve your last post appears to be directing the meet up outside of what he wanted.
Instead of explaining this and redirecting "his" meet up within his original scope he bailed on the thread.
So now even if a poll is now made and dates/location voted/decided we have no organizer unless OP comes back or another steps up.

So hopefully someone that is willing and able to be an organizer of this rally can continue the momentum started here and create a new thread for it in the main "Events" forum as a entire site Tenere 2019 rally.

Reno is right, someone needs to create a POLL to help decide Where to hold the event.
The AUG 7th - 10th looks good to me, weather wise.
I no longer own a Tenere, but I'll still ride up and harass you folks, if you don't mind

There is an Africa Twin rally in Gunnison the weekend of the 2nd - 4th. Y'all could just show up in force and participate in that, with a strong showing of Tenere's. I will be there on my KTM

I'm would still vote for Gunnison, as it's centrally located, has decent camping, and ample dirt, and paved roads all around.
As for the OP dropping out and disappearing, this might have taken off, and became much larger than he anticipated, or was willing to organize.
I am close to Colorado, and can research an area if needed...

I am signed-up for the ADV-Africa Twin Rally in Gunnison on the 2nd-4th (was planning on showing up on the Tenere), but I don't think I'm going to be able to make it........I've had to shift my vacation due to a couple of my good-friends coming to ride Colorado during August 9th-15th.
Does anyone know the OP? Is he OK?

We had a hell of a time in Ouray. If I remember correctly, 150 Tenere scooters showed up.

Sounds like we got our date and place while I was out riding MX at Monster Mountain.

I don't live in Colorado but I can call the KOA and see about setting aside some tent areas. someone else will have to plan the rides etc as this will be a new experience for me riding there!
