I was going over my bike today when I noticed my lever bolt was backed out and the nut was gone. The nut holds the bottom of the hand guard. I tightened the bolt now gotta find a nut to put back on it

It's just a common 6mmX1.00 nut. Every hardware store will have them or if you have any old four wheelers or motorcycles laying around, you will have a hundred of them.

Yea, 6mm nut, and almost all the tightening should be the nut, not the bolt. Just snug the bolt, then tighten the nut to 4.3ft/lb. Everyone uses a torque wrench I assume :) I do.

No "need" to use one. I went 35yrs nearly and never torqued anything, lugnuts, axle nuts or anything else, but later after actually having good tools including many torque wrenches I actually enjoy using them probably where most don't see the need. I never balanced a tire for nearly 40yrs either, but for some reason now I enjoy doing that too.

Had exactly the same thing happen to my Tenere 2018 ES
Fortunately I had a stainless steel nut 6 mm with a serrated locking washer attached to the nut. In addition I used some blue ointment and It's still holding.
