Hello everyone, I'm Clinton. Currently living in the midwest USA but in the process of researching a move. Just started looking at the S10, but haven't even ridden one yet. Just sold my '18GSA, before that I a KTM 1290SA, FJR, 950 Adventure, R1150GS, i trade em out about every 18 months or so. Kinda tired of always having the thought in my mind about what could go wrong, even though I've done 15,000 mile in the last 18 months and never had so much as a lost bolt, or burnt out build. Just joined to research, maybe fine a deal, see what works and what doesn't.

Welcome from down I-35 a few hours, in Texas. Depending on why got rid of the competition, you might not like the Tenere. She's not number one in any attribute, except maybe durability/reliability. She's my favorite bike ever.

sold the 03 GS for the FJR which I immediately regretted. made money on the FJR when i sold it and bought the 950 Adventure. liked the 950 but it wasn't fuel injected. so I bought a 1290 SA-T, 11,000 miles in the first year, phenomenal bike, probably my favorite, but lots of electronics and lots of stories about problems, also, $44 for a single spark plug is ridiculous. period. so traded for the GSA and its ok, comfy, lots of gadgets, plenty of power but my wife accepted a job offer in the UK so we are selling everything and starting over. What I learned from all this is since I'm tall i need a big bike, but as long as its not to vibe and gets decent MPG then it comes down to PPM, price per mile, the lower the better. a new S10 costs less than a used GSA=lower PPM.

Yeah, the FJR was the odd man out in that herd. She's my second favorite bike, but her happy place is not on dirt. Somebody on here coined the phrase SPM (smiles per mile), and said the Tenere had the highest quotient.

Nice. I bought my 2020 Super Tenere in Howard, Kansas. Population 500. Flew to Wichita and from there, drove with the family to their home. Installed out panniers and we were off from Kansas to Tampa. Was an awesome trip.
