Hi guys,

bit of help from you tech guys needed, i bought a cardo packtalk bold headset 11 months ago its connected to my GARMIN 390LM satnav, also to my SAMSUNG A7 2018
phone, the problem i,m having is if the satnav is on and i,m on my own the connection works all ok.
now if my wife as passenger is on the bike, and no satnav we can talk all day perfect, my wife has a interphone f5mc bluetooth unit, BUT when we are out and i need the satnav and comms to work its doesn,t when we set off and we are talking through comms all good but soon as satnav talks to me the comms do not come back on i,ve tried everything the garmin is showin cardo and phone connected the phone shows satnav and headset connected but can not get the comms and satnav working along side each other.

so it must be down to how i have the lot connected and what i need to turn on or not i have no idea now how to get the satnav and comms to work and what i should have set up

any ideas what i,m doing wrong

I am no expert but I believe you can only connect to 2 devices, so your wife would be one and the phone the other. If you turn off both your bluetooth and your wife's bluetooth you should be able to connect via the Mesh and the other channel connect to the Satnav. Not sure if that is it or not though.

Rob I have all sorts of issues with my Sena stuff and other brands, the answer is in the order in which stuff is connected or turning off what you don't need.

Connect your phone to the sat nav rather than your lid, connect your sat nav to your comms then your wifes as a universal pairing (as its a different brand).

It should work but the issue will come when the connection is broken for example when you go to pay for fuel.

Stumping up for a Packtalk for your wife would make life a lot easier too.

From Cardo's website

"Pairing a channel replaces any existing paired unit on that channel with the new unit. "

I think that when you pair another brand of com to the Packtalk, all other paired unit are ignored until you go back to DMC mode. I got a Packtalk Bold Duo for me and my girlfriend and I can connect my gps and two phones at the same time and my girl connects her phone to her unit and all works perfect. Maybe you should buy a Packtalk Bold for your wife.

Rob, I had a similar issue with my Tomtom rider phone and freecom connected, I used the card connect app and changed the priorities to voice rather than nav, are you using the app to set your packtalk ?

There are only two bluetooth channels on the unit. If you are using those to pair your GPS, Phone and second PTB unit, then one or the other of the paired bluetooth units is getting kicked out. You need to pair the PTBs together in dynamic mesh mode, not bluetooth. Make sure both units show a slow blinking green LED to confirm they are in Mesh mode. Check the instructions for pairing in mesh mode.
