Can anyone recommend a good independent mechanic in NW England?

When my S10 was under manufacturer's warranty I used local Yamaha dealers for a service and to say that I was not impressed by the standard of workmanship is a vast understatement!

In 2017 I was recommended an independent mechanic near Bolton and he was absolutely fantastic. Fastidious in his work and fairly priced as well as being a very pleasant person. I've used him ever since.

Unfortunately it looks as if he is going to have to close down following an horrific accident. It's a tragedy for him and his wife and I feel very sorry for them. Far less important is I'm now looking elsewhere for a service for the S10.

My next service is a big one.....48k which includes the valve shims being checked so I need someone I can trust.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Sad to hear about your spanner guy. I hope he is able to manage after his accident.

I do all my own motorbike servicing but I take my cars to a place in Rochdale that also has a bike repair place too. They've been doing my MOTs since way back and Jon is a TT racer as well as a mechanic. Not sure if Rochdale is a bit of a mooch for you but it's an option?

I assume you talk of Russ Hodgkiss, at Bolton Motorcycle Workshop - sorry to hear he is having to close down. Where is Denzyl going?

Otherwise, I have used Chorley Yamaha for bike purchase in the past. They seemed perfectly proficient at the time, but I can't speak for their Service operation from afar.
