They were as nicely packaged as the panniers. No instructions but it's a straightforward install. I did go to hardware store to buy longer metric bolts so the passenger grab handles can still be used. ( I forgot the the size and pitch at the moment) Keep in mind that the handles need to be offset, (at least that's what I found I had to do in order for the right side case to open and clear the handle) I will post better pictures if anyone is interested.
I was replacing racks I already had, so I lost track of what bolts came with what - but I do remember needing to get some longer bolts, probably M10 or M12?

As I recall, I placed the grab handles between the mount and the frame on the right, but the mount between the handle and the frame on the left, exactly as you say so the lid would open. It may be that I had a spacer from a prior rack that I used on the right forward mount? Anyway, it all went together pretty well.

One last thing since no one asked, Hahaha, it took approximately 7 weeks to get these. They come from China, then get shipped from California. Not sure what the holdup was or if this normal delivery time? It's the middle of winter so I was in no rush to get these. Just worth mentioning in case someone had a future trip planned and needed these sooner.
Have fun out there and ride safe. Tom

I'll keep this going one more post, then I'll shut up;) Here are the some more pictures of the bolts I used and how the racks are offset to each side. I like symmetry and tried to make the racks even with the grab handles. But, like stated above, the right side rack needs to be outside. I have the lid open so you can see the clearance needed. Only people that know they are offset are the owners that put these on. Hahaha. Anyone outside the Tenere community are looking to hard. :p

Bolts I used but will go to Fastenal and get stainless allen head fasteners to make it look right. These I got at work because I wanted to mount everything as soon as possible. Lol.

Left side. Rack is inside and grab handle outside. No clearance issues with opening lid.

Right side with lid open. Grab handle inside and rack outside. Someone really has to look hard to see the offset from behind. Hope this helps anyone in the future.
Now go ride and gave fun.

I have the Brooks topcase. It didnt quite fit with the brooks top rack. I had to go buy bolts (the ones they sent were too short) and I may have had to drill a hole.

It has served me well. It seems strong and hasn't leaked.

The way it attaches/locks to the rack is a little funky. Its basically a bolt with a big ring inside of the case and you have to get it lined up then tighten the ring/bolt to go into a hole. It can be a pain to get it lined up, and its a bit of a pain to remove when the case is full, you might need to unload the case to take it off. There are plastic spacers also where the case attaches to the rack that would wear out eventually, especially if you take it on and off a lot.

If I had it to do again, I probably would probably go with a more name brand but only due to the 'not quite fitting' and the way they lock to the rack, if you need to save the $100-200 there really isnt anything wrong with the topcase at least.

These look like a really nice pannier option for the Tenere. The website indicates that they will not fit an ES model. Does anyone have any insight or experience as to if it will not actually fit, or where, perhaps, a modification can be made to get these to work?

That is very disappointing to hear. I do hope that they follow through and get these shipped out to you soon.

I understand your frustration. I mentioned in a previous post that it took about 7 weeks to get them and i believe they said 2 weeks as well. However, every time I called, I did get someone on the phone. I never bothered with an email. Good luck and hopefully you get them sooner than I did.

Sucks to hear that. Looks like I may have 5 more weeks of waiting. Dont really need them before then and I like the looks of the brooks better than most others.

Mine arrived today. The only issue I found is one of the plastic protective caps on the bottom of the bag was broke. I called the company and they are sending me a replacement and refunded me $50. Can’t complain about that. I’m going to install them tomorrow

Wow! That was a lot faster than I thought, and probably you too. :) Glad they hooking you up and refunding you some dough. Have fun installing and enjoy your cases.

Yes they said they would not fit an ES model. The Right side would be the problem but could be worked around Iam sure. I used Hepco Becker racks and Caribou boxes for my new S-10...Wish I had tried to make the Brookes fit. IMG_1031.JPGIMG_1043.JPG
