I've had a Madstad 22" windshield for 5 years. Today I dropped my bike and broke it in half on a tree. Luckily that was all the damage. I put the puny stocker back on for now. I was wondering how many out there have tried multiple windshields. I don't have any complaints against Madstad. Mine was still as clear as it was new.

The Yamaha tall works for me and I'm 6 ft. tall.

I recently added the Madstad bracket and 22" Madstad windshield in medium gray. After using the bracket with the OEM windshield, the Madstad windshield, and a custom cut 24" Parabellum, I settled on the OEM for summer and the Parabellum for the rest of the year. Bracket set all the way down and all the way back for both. I couldn't make the Madstad screen work for me.

I have had good success with the Madstad bracket and the Parabellum windshield. I bought an over height shield and positioned the bottom below the winglets at the highest position I might use it. I then trimmed the shield to just below my line of sight. Works great.

I just got a 25" parabellum.. It seems about 5" too tall for me. With my madstad all the way down. I'm looking through about 3" of windshield. I'm 6'3". Their site says a 27" for 6'3" and over. A 27" would be as high as my helmet. There sizing chart seems off to me. Might just send it back and get other Madstad.

I experimented with a aftermarket screen off of a Rifle fairing. The fit was dead on, super quiet, really surprised me.

There are so many different opinions on "what windscreen" it's mind boggling. I get perfect airflow with a good helmet and proper OEM windscreen adjustment.

I just got off the phone with Brenda at Parabellum and she said that their windshield would not fit the Madstad bracket on my 2014 S10. Unless I have read this thread wrong, Badnews has this particular setup. Any feedback?

I've got a Madstad bracket. I'm 6'3". Brenda told me I needed the tallest windshield they had which is a 27".. I ordered a 25" because a 27" just seemed too tall. When I got my windsheild. I was looking through it in the lowest position. I called back and told her it was too tall. She said "well, we sent what you ordered." Their sizing chart is off. I sent it back and got another Madstad. 22".

That sort of fall has been known to crack the subframe. Tape a yardstick to current screen, sit on the bike and get your numbers off that. If 22" worked before it shouldn't be any different across brands.

Another question for people who have a 2014 or newer S10 with the Gen2 Madstad bracket and using a Parabellum windscreen. Did you have to put more holes in the windscreen or modify the Gen2 bracket? I really want to try a parabellum but Brenda at Parabellum said their windscreens won't fit Gen2 brackets. Looks like several riders on this forum are using this combination. Thanks for your help in advance.

The Madstad website states that any windshield made for a Gen2 S10 will fit on their Gen2 S10 brackets. Any winshield made for a Gen1 S10 will fit on their Gen1 S10 brackets. I have a Gen 1 2013 and switch between Madstad and stock screens all the time.

Barn,

It is my understanding that the Madstad bracket is designed to be able to use the stock windshield and any windshield that would mount to stock location.

I have had stock, smaller Madstad, Puig touring screen, and larger Madstad mounted to my Madstad bracket without issues. If the Parabellum you are looking at is designed for stock windshield mounts then it should also work with Madstad bracket.

I prefer the 22" madstad myself. Everyone is a little different and has different preferences. I feel obligated to say that I tried all my helmets including two Arai's and one Schuberth. These were not only "good", but great helmets on other bikes, but I got really bad buffetting and noise until I tried the madstad screens. The strangest thing was that my Schuberth was the quietest helmet on my Tiger, but was the loudest on the Tenere with the stock screen. Even the tall Puig touring screen had some buffeting although significantly better than stock.

Artemedes,
Your 22" Madstad windscreen, what is the distance from the top screw in the windscreen to the top of the windscreen? Trying to get an idea of which screen to order if I go that way. Kind of stuck between the Madstad or Parabellum.

Another thing I have seen mentioned, the wind defllector on the Gen2. Commonly referred to as Shrek Ears. Some are replacing them with the Gen1 deflectors. My question is, is anybody just trimming that part off of the Gen2s? Does this make any difference in wind turbulence if you have the winglets installed?
