Broken side panels? Brittle plastic?

I headed into the garage today to perform some annual maintenance on the Tenere. I was surprised to find that both of my right side panels are broken where the upper and lower panels fasten together. The plastic on the lower cover appears to have become very very brittle. Almost like plastic that has been exposed to lots of sunlight and UV light. The weird thing is, my bike is only outdoors when rides. Current mileage is 25,000 and I live way too far north for this to happen.

I’m going to dig into it further tomorrow and see if I can somehow fix it up but I’m not hopeful.

Has anyone else experienced broken panels? The bike has Altrider crash bars and hasn’t been down. I’m finding this quite weird actually as it’s been stored in my garage all winter and hasn’t been hit or toyed with.

If anyone can source me a couple of used panels, I would appreciate it.

I thought that manufacturers had to supply replacement parts for 10 years. Dan V. may be onto something. Get hold of Bighuck, and see if he has a cool wrap for the whole piece. Just a thought.
Yes 10 years worth of supply based on historic sales. If the 10 year supply is sold out in two years, it’s gone.

I've found these to be useful if you have a crack on plastic panel, obviously with enough material thickness to repair. It could be backed up with some of the super glue and micro ballons or baking soda
