Yes Paul, see below post.
So I have just bought my long term keeper bike and I have never ridden an XT1200 before!!Its a basic 'Z' model as I don't need the extra bits and they are a bargain price. Extra bits I can add on cheaper. I don,t need ES. First job is too paint it from boring matt white to rally blue and anodize the wheels yellow like the new 700 Tenere Rally edition. Also get it chipped for another 20HP?View attachment 80419View attachment 80420
Welcome from Lancashire

I've just part exchanged my beautiful white 2015 with 47k on the clock for a new 'pre-registered'. Decided if I didn't do it now I would not be able to get another 'new' S10

Here's mine at the dealers but they are transferring all my accessories across.

Comparing pictures it looks like we bought from the same dealer or dealership group

I'll post a picture when I get it home which should be later this week

Mike
definitely flash it... super worth it

Greetings from NYC, welcome aboard and congrats on your new S10.
Nice XJR.
The Yamaha XJR is another example of a Japanese "forbidden fruit" motorcycle
that we were denied access to here in the US....

Don't get me wrong, I love 'em. . . . but, all they are is a nekid FJ/FJR. Most of the time nekid is good. . . . but, sometimes dressed is good too.

Totally different bike mate, 50kg for starters! You would have to say the FJR is the better bike, shaft drive, more comfortable, panniers, glove box, electric screen and I think it handles better. The XJR also does 4000 revs at 70mph so I use it for local trips out with the boys. The S10 will be my tourer. I nearly bought another FJR but the riding position on the S10 is better for me. I also like going up single countryIMG_2856.JPG lanes/tracks which my FJR was not designed for, too heavy, GREAT bike though. Don,t know why you guys didn,t get the XJR. Especially as you were all running around in massive motors with gorgeous V8's, we got tiny four pots inline or V4

My reg is PJ70 (reg 30/11/20) and is also from Wigan Yamaha

Both Wigan Yamaha and Chorley Yamaha (along with Millennium, Orrell Superbikes, Bolton Kawasaki, KJM. Colin Appleyards. KD Motorcycles, Robinsons, etc) are part of the MotoGB group
When I was in the shop about 3 weeks ago they had 2 or 3 non electronic suspension bikes on the shop floor as well as a couple of ESAs. You probably bought one of them. I've probably seen yours but they don't have the reg plates on them.

The workshop is very busy at the moment.

Enjoy your new bike

Mike
Thanks for that Mike, interesting, I was going to get my local dealer to do the recall on the switch, don,t want to hold things up any longer. I am surprised they didn,t try to sell me any extras, I may ask them if they can do a deal on a centre stand, I would like a side infill panel also. Perhaps I will go aftermarket/second hand on those as well as heated grips in time... need to save up for the respray first. I sold my boat for the same money the new S10 is so need to save up for the extras and get them past the wife! ;)

I think the recall should be done before you get the bike

If I remember I'll find out tomorrow when I get my new bike and get back to you

It's being delivered in the morning Mike :cool: salesman has only just told me and he said it needs insuring before they can drop it off and it is in the van already loaded. New salesman having a breakdown he said with all the sales... chaos. Anyway it will be arriving in the morning (bet the recall has not been done!!). As long as it arrives OK and doesn,t turn out to be a 125CC I don,t care, LOL. I was expecting to wait another week at least.:)

Don't know about the UK, but in the US it is illegal for a dealer to sell a bike with an outstanding safety recall. The front brake light switch was considered a safety recall here.

Well just had a call from the delivery driver and it's coming at 8.30 in the morning. Think the UK is not as (cannot think of the word, had a celebratory beer or two thinking about my bike for life... Hic!) as the US... e.g. In the USA the GS leaking front Hayes brakes issue had a recall on them and sales were even halted in some states. In the U.K., they are still selling GS's merrily and you take your chances if you buy one, I did never again LOL!

Apologies had a rare celebratory drink, BUT if I had ordered a GS I would be thinking, great really excited, good looking motor etc BUT I feel as though I am being ripped off, it's all hype and poor quality ( lowest reliability ratings at 40% and I have owned one that was pure recall and reliability issue and cost) however with my S10, it's an equally good looking motor and may not be the latest and flashiest without all the consumer led trinkets BUT is just a quality tool that I respect and really appreciTe for that. You can simply enjoy the ride, rely on it and not have to worry about getting to your destination as with BMW, Triumph, KTM and Ducati. The sensible guy buy the Yamaha.... made in JAPAN, with the most reliable figures last January... wise buy for your hard earned.

Seeing how you're in the UK, drop by CJS Racing in Bristol. Chris Steedman has made some excellent dyno-developed flashes for the S10 or he can throw your bike on the dyno and make a custom flash for your bike if you don't want to buy one already made. I have his flash and it is awesome.
